Leg Pains – Dietary and Ayurvedic Treatment, Home Remedies

Leg pain can be caused by joint pain or muscle cramps due. Joint pain are generally observed in arthritis, a condition that sets in as the person advances in age. In arthritis, the articulation of the bones gradually wears over time, resulting in pain when they work. This is referred to as AAMA Vata in Ayurvedic language.

Muscle cramps usually affect the muscles of the leg. It is known as Khalli Vata in Ayurveda. There is a special term for the muscle cramps that affect only the calf muscles, which is Pindikoveshtana. From an Ayurvedic perspective, almost all the pain caused due to vitiation of the vata dosha. Specifically in leg pain due to muscle cramps, the vata vyana affected. This is a sub-dosha of vata which the involuntary muscles of the body checks.

Pains occur when an ama buildup in the body. Ama is the name given to the toxins caused due to improper digestion that are not be expelled from the body. Such ama causes several problems, including leg pain. Ama is constructed as a result of high Agni, ie digestive fire, which is governed by pitta dosha. Therefore there is a pitta relationship with the leg pain.

(1) Useful Herbs in the treatment of leg pains

1. Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum)
Clove oil is applied to the affected leg muscles as a poultice. It provides immediate pain relief, especially if they result from muscle cramps.

2. Ginger (Zingiber officinale)
Ginger has wonderful painkilling properties. It should be included in the diet and muscle pain in leg are a chronic problem.

3. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
Licorice is very effective in relieving muscle pain. An infusion of its roots must be prepared in the water and stayed overnight. This helps in almost all kinds of muscle problems.

4. Madhuca (Madhuca indica)
Madhuca has positive effects on leg pain, especially if they result from rheumatism. The oil is applied locally over the affected regions.

5. Pepper (Piper nigrum)
Pepper helps dilate the superficial blood vessels, thus helping in proper blood circulation. It also has analgesic properties and can be used as a spread in the muscle problems.

(2) Dietary Treatments for Leg Pains

Improper digestion can cause leg pain, must be ensured that everything that can lead to digestive problems eating. Not cons ran consume constipating foods, keep your diet simple. Consume lots of green vegetables and leafy vegetables that contain fiber. Vitamin C obtained from Amalaki, oranges and tomatoes also good for digestion. After each meal, make a habit of a plantain instead of a high-calorie desserts like ice cream. A plantain is a food that is rich in minerals potassium, magnesium and calcium. Therefore it is very beneficial for proper metabolism in the leg region. Avoid coffee and chocolate if you have persistent pain in the leg problems.

The importance of adequate amounts of liquids can not be overstated. Dehydration is a major cause of leg pain. Keep drinking a glass of water per hour of the day dehydratiom to avoid.

(3) Ayurvedic Treatments for Leg Pains

There are good oils in Ayurveda for external application used in the affected leg. If the pain suddenly occurred, then most likely they are cramps. In such cases, Mahanarayana tailam Praharini tailam or applied for relief to get. Warm the oil a bit and then apply has better effects.

For internal administration, Sinhanaada guggulu is required. This drug is also a mild laxative. So it will correct whatever problems may be the digestive system. Other commonly prescribed medicines Laxmivilasa rasa and Pratapa Lankeshwara rasa.

(4) Home Remedies for Leg Pains

1 If you frequently complain about pain in the legs, there are a few simple exercises you can do to get relief from them. Some of them are described: –
a) Lie on your back on a firm bed. Wear some loose clothing in the legs, such as shorts or pajamas. gradually raise your legs in the air, so far they can go. The heels should point skywards. Keep the legs stretched in this position for about ten seconds and then bring them back down. Do this five times per session, and repeat three times a day.
b) It can stand against a wall on an arm's length away. Stretching your arms and touch the wall with your open palms. Then slowly pull yourself forward (towards the wall). Feel the pressure building up in stretch your legs. Keep yourself in this stretched position for about ten seconds and release. Do this five times a session, and repeat three times a day.
c) Even Yoga has several leg stretching exercises that can be used with large positive effects. These exercises are Uttanpadasana, Janusandhi and Gomukhasana.

2 If the cramp when performing a training exercise or physical activity, than a glass of lemon water with a pinch of salt.

3 If the leg pain in the joints due to arthritis, then crush two to three cloves of garlic and add them to a glass of diluted milk. Boil it until the quarter amount and simply bedtime drink.

4 Applying a hot pack or sow the leg with steam helps to improve circulation and relieve the leg pain. Even the application of cold compresses helps. This reduces the blood flow in the leg region and help relax the muscles.

5 Do one part of camphor in twenty parts of mustard oil. Keep it in the Sun to the time of the camphor dissolves in the oil well. Use this oil to massage your feet on a daily basis.

6 If you have a sudden sprain in the leg, then prepare a paste of turmeric with lime and salt and bring to the affected part.

Wii Sports active leg strap Please Help!?

I have an active Wii Sports and the leg strap is too small and I've tried everything to get it to work because I can not use the nanchuk without it and none of the lower body workouts Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? I even tried getting Velcro to add, but that dont work either PLEASE HELP!

I just read about someone who had a pocket sewn on the front of their workout pants for the nunchuk. She took a piece of fabric and sewed three sides, making the top open. I do not remember exactly where I read.
