Films with African-American presidents
After 232 years of independence and 43 presidents, the United States of America elected its first African-American president.
In the past, quite a number of films with African-American presidents.
The first fictional African-American President Rufus Jones was played by Sammy Davis Jr., in Rufus Jones for President. It is a short 1933 musical comedy, written by A. Dorian Otvos (Merry Go Round of 1938 (1937), Goodbye Broadway (1938)) and Cyrus Wood (All Girl Revue (1940), Alice in Wonderland (1940)), directed by Roy Mack (Hillbilly Blitzkrieg (1942), Headline Bands (1946)) where a child is African-American elected president of the U.S.. Since the film is at least 75 years old, would not be surprising if many people have not heard.
The second, 39 years later, Douglas Dilman played by James Earl Jones in The Man – Not to be confused with the 2005 film of the same name staring Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy. It's 1972 political drama based on a novel of the same title, written by Irving Wallace (The Second Lady (1980), The Heavenly Bed (1987). The screenplay was written by Rod Serling (Assault on a Queen (1966), Planet Of the Apes (1968)) and directed by Joseph Sargent (Sybil (2007), Sweet Nothing in My Ear (2008)). Douglas Dilman the first African-American president after the president and the speaker of the house are slain.
The third is Lindberg plays wrestler / actor Tom Lister, Jr. In the science fiction-fantasy film The Fifth Element (1997) starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm Mila Jovovich and Chris Tucker. This film was not about his presidential campaign or career, but to save the world with the help of four stones and the fifth element.
The fourth was Tom Beck played by Morgan Freeman in the science fiction drama Deep Impact (1998), also staring Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, Elijah Wood and Vanessa Redgrave. Just like The Fifth Element, the film was not his presidential campaign or career, but this time save the world from a comet. It is not as good as expected at the box office, but a film with a similar storyline – Armageddon – Was released two months later, did far better.
The fifth is Mays Gilliam played by Chris Rock the Head of State (2003). It is written, produced and directed by Chris Rock, what kind of explains some of the errors. This film is on May Gilliam's presidential campaign and how he was elected as the first African American of the United States of America. North America. The president is Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, porn star and five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion. This would be the least popular film because it is not properly promoted and no official trailers were released. But it has received good reviews from viewers. I think it's worth.
The seventh is one of the most popular and favorite fictional president. I'm talking about President David Palmer played by Dennis Haysbert in the series 24.
The eight, President Wayne Palmer, brother of Palmer, played by DB Woodside 24 in the series. We do not really know Wayne gets as president because of his "accident" in the sixth season.
