Los Angeles is known worldwide for its movie stars and television actors. But when "the theater" called one thinks immediately Broadway and not the City of Angels.
However, Los Angeles has a vibrant theater scene filled with award winning talent and state-of-the-art venues. After all, actors and directors have to do something between film projects.
The Pantages Theatre is located on Hollywood Boulevard and is one of the most endearing sights of the city. The theater Opened in 1930 and was once owned by Howard Hughes.
The theater seats over 2,600 and is a great place for some of the best Broadway musicals to see.

Auditions for ABT Summer Intensive?
This summer (2009) I would like to audition for three different ballet summer intensives: American Ballet Theatre (ABT) School of American Ballet (SAB) and Alvin Ailey. I really want to ABT, but could only go if I ABT New York because I am trying to save money on room and board. I thought I Was 14, his dancing ballet for 11 years, and are en pointe for 5 years. I've been told I'm very good for my age. How can I stand at the audition? Do you think I get in NY ABT, or one of the three summer intensives?
There is no way for anyone to tell me that you could get either in Ailey, ABT and SAB. Even if they have seen you dance, people can only guess and say: "Well, they usually take …" ABT just trying to NY listing in your sign … maybe that way they know how you feel about it. What I would also suggest is ask the people at the check-in what to do. I have found them all very nice and helpful at all my daughter has ever been to … Check out what the age minima for each school that you want to audition to try and then just go and dance. The best way to get noticed is to show them what you have. There are no guarantees, but if you love dancing show them that … best wishes to you.
