Holidays to Amsterdam: affordable and fun
This year many residents of the UK will be looking for ways to save money on their holiday, some families choose all-inclusive packages for away to save money while, some people are on holiday in Britain this time. So either way you cut us Brits are to cut back on our holiday.
A holiday that is proving popular is the city except that it changed anything, people now go to European cities for longer pieces of time as they find more and more to see and do when not in a new city. There are museums and other tourist attractions, but best of all the food is much more varied than the displaced British pub grub found in a Spanish resort.
Amsterdam is one of these popular destinations, so much so that now it is number four in the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. It has a bit of a reputation for a fairly liberal atmosphere, like the fabled red light district and "coffee shops" but there is much more to Amsterdam than this.
With prices dropping tickets has never been a better time to take a trip to Amsterdam with cheap Flights to Amsterdam and other European destinations you can even take a ferry from the UK to the Netherlands if you wish your car to get around. That would be ideal if the Netherlands has such a beautiful landscape that it would be a shame to go there and not be allowed to ride in the country.
Holland is famous for the arts and Vincent Van Gogh Museum is the perfect attraction to visit with Van Gogh's most famous Danish painter. For those interested in historical monuments there is one who stands out in Amsterdam: Anne Frank House. Her diary is a world famous book documents the life of the young Jewish girl and her family during World War II. A trip to the small town house is a sobering reminder of the past and how a large group of people lived and unfortunately died in the late 1930s and '40s.
Like the historical aspect of the culture In Amsterdam there are plenty of modern moves to the city. Food and drinks are highly regarded in Amsterdam and the operation of entertainment for a meal is an activity all in itself. There is a wide range of different cuisines that can be found in Amsterdam, the national court could be said to be as many pancakes pancake or waffle shops specializing are sickly sweets.
An interesting local cuisine is Indonesian food, in fact it is generally regarded as the best place to eat outside of Indonesia Indonesia yourself! The food tends to come in much smaller dishes to your table at once, similar to tapas already a popular eatery in the United Kingdom.
With over a thousand restaurants in the city and similar numbers of hotels catering for all needs Amsterdam is surprisingly not a growing city with regard to tourism and the city has capitalized on this aspect with a growing tourism industry. Again with ferries and flights to Amsterdam down in price now is the time to explore Amsterdam.

What were the Raggedy Ann and Andy books?
I remember as a child with these books with Raggedy Ann and Andy. They were toys that would come to life. I have a search on them and the only one I could find were from the 50's and so on. The books I'm talking about were probably higher. I remember one where there is a pin cushion forest, and circus bears. There were other toys in the stories and play hide and seek. Anyone know what these are?
