Still Lookin 'Good at 50! – Holiday Barbie Doll
Every Christmas, glistening in her shimmering dress is a new Holiday Barbie Doll for you. 2008, the twentieth anniversary of the Holiday Barbie doll collectible. For many small (and big) girls would not be the same without a Christmas Holiday Barbie doll parts. Many of us have wonderful childhood memories of finding a Holiday Barbie doll waiting for us under the tree on Christmas morning.
Following the success of Rhapsody in Blue porcelain Barbie that was the first Barbie should be aimed at the collectible market, the Happy Holiday Barbie doll was born in 1988 and continued our Christmas' grace until 1998. She was not produced in large numbers and as Consequently, little girls and quickly sold to collectors. Today, this doll gets about $ 500 on the secondary market.
Realizing they were on to something, Mattel designed and released the first Holiday Barbie Doll back in 1988. With her model looks, she had a bouffant of blond hair with a big silver bow. Her holiday dress is made of red tulle glitter accents and a white satin bow at the waist. She was an instant sell out almost immediately and was for sale at a greatly increased price available.
The story was the same pretty much until after 1994 when the 35th anniversary Barbie doll, was a reproduction of the original 1959 doll released. Barbie doll collectors and fans crazy for this edition and they sell out quickly and were potted. The trend continued and Barbie doll collectors began to desire and every Holiday Barbie Doll collection with the intent to resell for a great price.
To This hoarding behavior counter, Mattel just made for each doll and she was just as popular as ever without the hype factor and the excessive price tag on the secondary market. After 1998 is the 'Happy' had lost its titles and more individual designs forward, the first was in 1999 Millennium Princess Barbie. It was designed to year 2000 and to welcome the new millennium.
This year see the release of the 21st Holiday Barbie. It is Barbie's 50th birthday so she's a pretty special Holiday Barbie doll this year. She is wearing an elegant pink and gold ball gown with layers of sparkling tulle that has rose pink rhinestone embellishments. Her body is wrapped in gold lame, ending in a large arc to the back. And like the majority of the Holiday Barbie editions It is available in an African American model.
In recent years, the release of the Holiday Barbie Doll, while they are still a nice collectible doll does not command such a high price when resold. Many can be picked up at low prices on the recommended value by searching online retailers such as eBay.

She's worth about 15-30 dollars if you wanted to sell her the most money you would get if you waited a few years. EBay or a local auction house would most likely get the most money for her.
