Commemorative coins as a souvenir
The popularity of commemorative coins is increased. Often they are given as gifts for special occasions are held for many years as a souvenir of a dear friend or loved one.
There is a great demand among collectors commemorative coins currency if it means a date or an important event.
From the year 1970, there were individual commemorative coins in the market each year, but now they come in packages as sets. This form of marketing is largely due to the introduction of the euro and the depreciation of the currencies that began in 1971.
Some countries have used commemorative coins Royalty for propaganda and coins issued for special events or occasions brand.

In 1892 the Colombian Exposition was reminded by the production of half dollars. This was the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus 'discovery' of the New World to celebrate.
The following year U.S. dollars in the quarter came about – this honored the Spanish Queen Isabella, who defended women's rights.
In the year 1900 the beginning of the coins in silver were introduced – these coins were in honor of George Washington and Lafayette – the following year the half dollar was released and there were legal tender coins to celebrate historical events 1892 to 1.954.
The Washington quarter dollar was off in 1932 – this was to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington and is a very well known and enjoy commemorative coin a wide circulation.
Commemorative coins coins from 1892-1954 were not widespread as the United States has not legalized it for the public so collectors do not pay high costs for these coins.
The Bicentennial quarter came into existence in 1975. This was the second commemorative coin to be distributed and a half and silver dollars (1776-1976) were re-issued and were treated as a special edition for collectors.
Every collector has their own taste in coins. Most collectors prefer to modern coins, but there are people who want the coins from 1892 to 1954. Modern coins have different monetary values according to the series.
There are many series that are released and there was a suggestion to the Congress to the Lincoln penny to release his birth anniversary to commemorate. But it is not known whether a 1-cent commemorative will ever be released.
There seems a strange pattern in the circulation of commemorative coins. The silver half dollar coins from 1776-1976 are not very popular with collectors because they are scarce are. The currencies that most circulating quarter dollars. It would be something of a speculation, if the proposal to the one-cent denomination commemorative coin will eventually occur circulate.

1974 Kentucky Derby 100th Anniversary Edition Canonero glasses with the error?
has anyone ever heard of this? There are two versions … one with the right information and that a derby winner "Canonero" instead of "Canonero II … it has any collectors know about this? are they worth anything? I have the whole set of 8 …. were told that they are worth a lot but i cannot find any info on the "wrong" glass
