Rolling through your foot in Dance

An employee of mine was talking to me again about how they heard of her dance teachers on roll through the foot. I've told you a thousand times by my teachers, but have you ever stopped and really thought about how important it is to roll through your foot? It seems like I'm hearing almost every time I'm in class now, so there is an importance to it.
What I mean by rolling through the foot? Rolling through the feet can be done, either from toe to heel or heel to toe, but the most is the first ballet. When you roll through your feet need to do from your toes, the ball of your foot, and then finally you heel.
This is very important in ballet. Think about how you not only take Tendu, but in too. Are you gripping the floor? You're not rolling through your foot. When you move from ballet slippers to pointe shoes, you should be able to roll through your foot well on your way up and on your way down. If you do not roll by putting your foot in pointe shoes on the way down, you'll land flat feet and to ensure that dreaded noise pointe shoe on the floor (We all know that sound right?)
Try this: stand in the first position and take a Tendu a la second. Your heel should be the first thing that let the floor, the ball of your foot, your toes point. You can feel the resistance the floor. Now bring your foot back in the first position. It should ball of the foot than the heel to be. When the ball of your foot to put down, think of Barbie shoes (You know perptually how Barbie is walking on her toes, almost like they are on pointe?). Consider bringing your heels together and your thighs. Try a bowl in the first position. If you go back on the ground can go toe, ball, heel? You should be.
Dancers who do not roll their feet are prone to many foot problems like bunions, hammer toes (from Instead of relaxing your toes touching), cramps and injuries from landing wrong off jumps. Rolling through the foothills of the jumps prevents injuries such as sprains and fractures.
Next time you're in class, a concerted effort to roll through your foot, especially at the bar, where good habits and bad habits are made broken. You should notice a difference in your tendus, jumps, and strength in your foot.

What are the Barbie movies and ballet dancing?
My daughter just in dance and ballet. We have Swan Lake, Nutcracker and the 12 dancing princesses. Do any of the other Barbie movies in ballet? Thanks
I'm afraid I only have a 10-year-old cousin at the moment and even Barbie is not his cup of tea! but I found This website and it lists about 15 or so Barbie movies. I hope that helps
