Barbie is a Doll Fashion For over fifty years
I've done some searching about Barbie dolls who make and the idea of making this kind of dolls. So I found some information through my search that the history of Barbie and how she came to the market and became a famous fashion doll that I've read in wiki and browse through some other websites.Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by U.S. company Mattel toys in 1959. Barbie is important part of the toy fashion doll market for more than fifty years.
Ruth Handler saw her daughter Barbara playing with paper dolls and she noticed them adult roles. At that time most of the children played with baby toys. Ruth Handler have an idea of making bodied adult pop and proposed to her husband Elliot, he is co-founder of the Mattel toy company. He was enthusiastic about the idea.
During a trip to Europe 1956 with her children, Handler found a German doll called Bild Lilli healthy adult was similar to what she thought. She bought three dolls, and modified it to make a new doll. She has a name given to a Barbie doll. The doll made its debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York on March 9, 1959. This date is used as Barbie's official birthday.
Mattel acquired the rights to the Bild Lilli doll in 1964. The first Barbie doll wore a black and white zebra striped swimsuit and ponytail with a crest and was available as a blonde or brunette. The doll was marketed as "Teen-age Fashion Model" with her clothes created by Mattel designer Charlotte Johnson. The first Barbie dolls were manufactured in Japan, Barbie clothes were hand stitched by Japanese home workers.Aroud 350,000 dolls were sold during the first time production.
Barbie has become into a cultural icon and has received awards that are rare in the toy world. In 2009, Barbie has celebrated her 50th birthday.
