Dolly Parton: Back to the top of Country Music
You know what song is number one on the country charts now? It is nothing but a song called "Jolene" by Dolly Parton from her wildly popular album entitled "Dolly, Live from London". It's so good to a country legend can be seen on top of the charts!
My memories date back to Dolly Parton from the movie "9 to 5" released in 1980. Dolly also wrote and performed a song with the same name, which won a Grammy nomination and award. In the film, Dolly Doralee Rhodes played a secretary of an annoying and over-aggressive boss played by Dabney Colemen. This was the first Dolly's role, and one realizes that Dolly is the same person on the screen as she is off screen – genunine!
The reason her new album, "Dolly: Live from London 'is so popular is because Dolly This brings real enthusiasm and real country voice on stage like no other.
Like many songs on the album, the song "Jolene" that has hit the # 1 spot on the country charts is nothing new. This song was released in 1973 and became the first major blockbuster Dolly Parton's country song. The song tells the story of a housewife with concern that her husband would stray for another woman. The chorus lines, "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I beg you not my husband" illustrate this suffering.
Like many of Dolly's songs, and many country songs in general, this song reflects the personal circumstances in the life of Dolly's. At the time, Dolly husband Carl Dean was exaggerated flirtation of a beautiful bank Teller, Dolly had to fight for her husband. As always, she came out on top and is still married to Carl Dean this many years later.
There are many other songs on this album that you know by heart and tell stories of love, loss and joy.
The first you probably know, the name "Two Doors Down," which tells a story of all three:. love, loss and joy in the song, Dolly complains, "Two doors down, they laugh and drink ', and with a lot ", while she was home complaining a relationship gone wrong. However, she decided to attend the party and met a nice man back she brings to her apartment just "two doors down."
Another is that you certainly "Islands in the Stream" to know. Written in 1983 by the Bee Gees and sung by Dolly, along with Kenny Rogers, this song reached # 1 on every chart list in the U.S. In this issue, Dolly request of her lover, "Sail Away with me to another world "and who in their right mind could resist?
The album also includes new songs, titled "Only Dreamin ', which is Celtic influence a song about a lost love and "Backwoods Barbie", an homage to the country life that inspired her upbringing.
This is not only an album to enjoy country fans or fans of Dolly. It's an album that all will enjoy!
