How can I make my own Barbie bathroom set? Any suggestions on what to use?
I'm making a huge barbie house for my daughter for Christmas and I have so far furnished with everything other than a bathroom. I made everything myself, but when it comes to making a toilet I'm stuck! Any suggestions on what to use or how you put together? I'm pretty crafty, but this is something that stumped me.
You could sculpt a polymer clay. This would be the most realistic method. The plain white clay (clay brand) is sold in 1 or 2 lbs packages so you might have enough for experiments. You could form the toilet bowl by covering a small ceramic or glass condiment bowl with foil for a mold and a sheet of rolled clay on top and bake according to package instructions. A base for the toilet bowl is a simple cube of the same clay are added firing and the tank can be made of the same way. For the seat, just roll a "snake" of clay, connect it to a ring and a bit flat. After baking, just glue on the top of the bowl. You can use the bath and sink with the same material and to shine, painting with future floor wax after you have sanded smooth with wet / dry sandpaper.
