How you look affects your Success
Look the part. That is what people from my grandmother's generation used to say. It meant looking like the professionals who belonged to the group you wanted a part of. It also meant the execution itself, through your attitude, in a manner consistent with the expectations of the role you play in business.
Over the years things have become, in a word, relax. Relaxation for people from the generation of my grandmother. Intentionally or dress down Friday are aware of the working week to create a blurring between business and casual clothing, making them with a nonchalant attitude towards professionalism.
I remember a tie during my interviews with small business after work corporate jobs. Depending on the culture of the company links were either welcomed or rejected. On a subconscious level, we are all aware. We on our "best on Sunday "for the church, we put our best foot forward" when meeting the parents of our friends and significant other, and we "dress to impress" when are social events. For two adult males of the same height, one that was greater at 16 would most likely earn higher wages.
Blink Gladwell reports that researchers who analyzed data from four large studies that had followed thousands of people from birth to adulthood, and calculated that when corrected for variables such as age and gender and weight, a few inches of height is worth $ 789 a year in salary. This means that a person who is six meters high, but is otherwise identical (in ratings) for someone five foot five, will average $ 5,525 more per year.
