Choosing toys for your baby and toddler
I've been very active in a number of forums lately and I came across a thread that remain unanswered for a few days. The The thread starter obviously frustrated so I decided to post a reply. The subject was pretty easy and intuitive, at least that was what I first thought that I read. The thread starter, a mother wanted to know of the activities and toys that would be recommended for infants and children.
I can still clearly remember what toys and activities that my parents when I was a kid. Since my mother was a graduate of Fine Arts, of course they encouraged us to sign. She let me and my sisters to draw on the walls of the house. They gave us large sheets of paper on which we could trace our hands and feet. As we grew, we have smaller sheets of paper, began with smaller crayons, pencils or pens then. It has never left us, I sometimes draw in my spare time for recreation. My sister was a real talent that remained and flourished, her happiness! Although she graduated in sociology, she now works as a layout artist for an international company, sketching and drawing storyboards and making comics in her spare time.
My all time favorite is Lego. Lego has been around for ages and I think it will not go away soon, that's a good thing. I do not think it possible for everyone to know how to surf on the Internet, but do not know of Lego. If you are still not aware of this great toy, click here. My father gave my sister the "Duplo" set and for me, Lego "Technic" to set. I think he may have already exceeded the Technic set. The first time I opened the box that Christmas, I remember clearly disappointed. 7 is at that moment I said to myself: "What the hell is this, everything is yellow and black, and does not resemble a toy!". Unfortunately, by the time I was able to appreciate what he gave me, everything had been ruined by excessive biting. Yes, I did not know there was a way to separate Lego pieces aside from biting it.
Not all parents are the same. Not all fathers would get their children Lego sets, and certainly not all mothers would allow their children to write on the walls of their houses! So I guess I just my thoughts about "how" to choose the toys and not "what" choosing toys for their toddlers and young children.
As with all purchases, you would most from your money. Want to get something that will first, for meeting the need it was intended. Second consideration was the quality and durability, is understandable, because we have about toys for children. Only then comes the price.
So for example, are you planning to, say, a doll for your 3-year-old child. A doll is usually a representation of something lives more generally a man. I have read, mostly dolls help children to recognize the needs of a living being. They will learn how to dress, to the house to play, to feed.
I did not "child safety" as a category in what I said earlier, as a parent never compromise that, it's always a given. Always check the label for an age guide and safety of the manufacturer (which sometimes really unreliable, seeing that there was a series of recalls in recent few years, so check reviews on the Internet before you buy) is. That said, if you consider the choice between a stuffed toy bear and a Bratz doll, ask yourself. Does your child need something to cuddle? If your child is already able to handle hard or small plastic objects? Where will they use it, it's good to leave on the bed or the crib? There are a lot of questions asked, but the primary, just wondering what purpose is that the toys meet if you get it for your child.
Will it be sustainable? I have too many broken Barbie dolls during my childhood, because these toys are expensive, my parents decided to give us a different brand, relatively cheaper because it is made of hollow plastic. This was still torn, but my parents were not crying.
The best toys for me, a good balance of the three factors I have mentioned. Quality certainly would price up and vice versa. If you are a parent who is not on a budget but, it's a different story.
Once you have this covered, it is time to review toys. How do you choose which appropriate for your child? I hope that parents not only to get a toy just for the sake of giving one to their child. It is very important to a toy that will help your kid development. Toys and play the most important activity during the formative years, of course you can use these two not only about your child happy, but also to educate him or her too.
HowStuffWorks gives a recommendation on what to get babies and how to get to children. Babies need toys that will stimulate their senses. Rattles and mobiles help develop hearing not to mention the fact that they make endearing memories. Colorful stuffed animals, balls and boxes will help with the activity movement and tactile perception. Hugs should be small enough so the baby can cuddle it, it is also recommended to one who has a variety of textures to get, for example soft, rough, fluffy, soft boxes etc. For the activity, get those buttons and knobs to push and pull are opening doors, movements that your baby will get at basic tasks do glide.
You will notice that after a few months, your baby will grow disinterested with his toys. This means that only he has outgrown them. It would be a good time to shopping for new toys that will provide more incentives, such as a stuffed animal of a more complex form of color and texture.
The same applies to children too. We can classify infants into two groups, the young toddler (12-24 months) and older toddlers (2-3 years).
Young toddlers require toys that will develop the fine locomotion and ambidexterity. Blocks and dolls are appropriate here even if I type that looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid is not the Barbie doll type recommended. Nothing with small pieces of it. Read for every fiber or fabric that can be shed if the child can take this.
The large Duplo blocks or wooden blocks are not recommended. Select blocks that are created of light plastic, rubber or foam. The blocks have rounded edges to prevent poking accidents. Sort toys can come in the form of activity has boxes with holes for blocks of various sizes and shapes to meet.
Older toddlers need toys that will foster creative thinking. At this stage, your child must be able to hold a written already implemented. Large pens and pencils, but not with a sharp tip can be given. Make sure the non-toxic kind to get. Toys that resemble real-life tools recommended. Play telephones, miniature keyboard pianos, kitchenware, toy cars, trains, trucks, etc. Because these toys are made with real imitate life counterparts, increased wear is expected. Make sure that metal parts are stainless, parts that might break will not get splinters or sharp edges.
Toy instruments such as tambourines, horns and drums are a must. Puzzles are highly recommended, however, choose the one which you think is at the level of the capacity of your child. A challenging puzzle game can even discourage your child to play.
This is a big step to read to your child. Set aside time to read to your child or listening to audio books with him. If he has trouble paying attention or sitting still, let him sit. Keep reading, but to get response from time to time to ensure that he is listening to you attempt.

Where can I find a guide (preferably online) to find out what years 80s – early 90s toys 'collectable'?
In the I am especially looking for info on the price Barbies (also have some first edition little mermaid doll, Skipper size are not made by Mattel and the Anastasia doll Burger King) and My Little Ponies. I also Barbie play sets, including the Surf N Shop, BBQ party, and a few beach ones. The ponies, I'm Mommy and Baby Shady, Baby Bonnet Dance Studio, and the Pony Castle (slightly damaged). Half of the Barbies have original outfits (one right down to the shoes and the hair out) and I think thats important to have. I also Barbie outfits that came on that I did not, so maybe collectors would be interested in so they could see the doll looks like it was out of the box.
