Four pillars of administration based on the movie "The Great Escape"
In this article I present the review of the film "The Great Escape" and compare with the four pillars of the administration. This 1963 film is based on a true story about the Germans opened Stalag Luft North, a maximum security prisoner-of-war camp, designed to keep even the most cunning escape artists in 1943. Steve McQueen did an outstanding job as Captain hilts "The Cooler King". James Garner as Flight Lt. Hendley "The beggar" and Richard Attenborough as Squadron Leader Roger Bartlett "Big X" were also good.
1. Administrative context:
Intrinsic property of an organization is the heterogeneity of the objectives of the members. There are conflicting goals between intra-organizational functions, departments and people working for them, and between short and long term and the cause of potential conflict in organizations. The task of a leader, a manager or a manager is to select Such state of affairs that the maximum congruence between the different set of goals provides, making the conflict and contradictions between these objectives minimized so that the coordination and cooperation between members.
The film shows leadership, sacrifice, building relationships and setting goals and how prisoner of war attempts to find freedom. We see them plan, preparing and digging the tunnels as they escape detection of the perpetrators. It was remarkable that so many people involved with each other to see considering their large number and to cooperate in synergy.
2. The role of administrator
Activities should be broken and allocated to people with the requisite skills (or potential necessary skills to build) to deliver on its strategy. Role of the manager is very crucial in the integration of the sub-units of the structure and how well these sub-units integrated determine the success of the implementation. The range of roles they perform are: Interpersonal roles, Informative roles, and decisional status roles. They reflect the characteristics by: Work hard, analytical ability, initiative, attention to detail, persuasion, values, value, social / political skills, perseverance, and team skills.
In "The Great Escape" movie, we had a core group of prisoners decided to escape, in fact their goal was to make the escape of 250 men easier in one night, they managed to do it. Planning for escape was a daunting task, something never tried before, and the required cooperation between extreme the prisoners.
The role of a manager is to work to improve the community in general. This is exactly what Capt hilts did:
a. Teams of men were organized specialized in different trades.
b. Managing Job-like survey, excavation, soil disposal, manufacture clothing, forging documents, smuggling materials purchases, Tracking movement of soldiers, to distract guards, the supply of fresh air into the tunnels with hand bellows, and to provide lighting in the tunnels. Noise from the excavation was covered male choral singing.
c. The list of supplies needed for the job was incredible: 4000 sheets, 600 meters of rope, 1000 meters wire, etc. The army of prisoners has to find and steal all the necessary materials.
d. Each person had a job. There were tailors, blacksmiths, forgers, pickpockets and camouflage artists.
3. Administrative Process and Behaviour
The behavior of each individual should be focused on achieving the team goal. In the film we've seen people administrative process and exhibited behavior.
This film is a great example of all of these things mentioned above. It does not take long for an inmate, Virgil hilts (the late Steve McQueen) who earns the nickname "The Cooler King" for his failed escape attempts. Hilts is not the only prisoner who wants a few others hatch a plan to remove 250 people to come in one night. How it is performed is a stroke of genius and skill. The film has a wide variety of characters who are allowed to share their feelings, which is a nice touch give. There are two characters who make solid examples and I cared the most. One is Colin Blythe (the late Donald Pleasence), a gentle Brit who specializes in forging names and goes blind, the other in Willinski Danny (Charles Bronson), a Russian who excels at digging tunnels and tends to get rattled.
The behavior is about ordinary people the commitment of creating extraordinary team.
Vision inspires team. The prisoners had a vision of becoming free and the whole team inspired.
4. Administrative Strategy
The organizational structure should follow strategy and implementation is effective.
a. Appropriate specialization of the task: Everyone specializes some art and their tasks are well developed. The scene that impressed me and I think is the best example of the administration strategy is the fourth of July celebration, where Steve McQueen is riding on a motorcycle and McQueen tossing the baseball against the cell walls to the vigilance of the guards to test.
b. They had parallel provision for coordination.
c. Installation information system. The way their information system setup was great.
d. Collaboration is multiplication: a complement to another important and not compete. We find inmates to work as a unit, and despite a mistake never allowed competition between them.
e. Last but not least: big challenge requires great team work. Although the attempt failed in fulfilling its aim, but also gave the world an historic example of a collective effort.
No doubt this film all about leadership, sacrifice, building relationships and setting goals. It was sad that they were later caught, but their efforts have led to the achievement impossible praiseworthy.

How cheap get a Blythe doll for super?
I recently discovered Blythe dolls over the Internet. Http: / / www.thisisblythe.com/ I love them. They are so cute. I love all the wigs and costumes and clothing I've seen so far. I wish I had the money to them and most of all clothing collection. I would be a room for only the Blythe dolls and buy a second set for my niece. But the exorbitant prices, I will not even buy one. It's for the best, because if I had one, I would want more. And I would never collect other dolls or beanie babies, like heels, but these Blythe dolls are so great. I highly doubt, but is there anywhere to get them for cheap?
It's a long shot but they sometimes can be found at thrift stores and yard sales. If you see a sale that vintage dolls "or 70 dolls advertises" up should go check it out. If you are a Kenner Blythe Fer you could sell for about $ 1000 and collect the Takara Blythe's.
