Glider Rocker Chair really a godsend when the baby is born?
I expected and wanted to know mom's thoughts on the glider chair w / ottoman …? Is it really the best thing since sliced bread? Are there other ways mothers prefer?
I got a glider w / ottoman two months before my son was born was because I thought it was vital, but was found to be important early on. I ended my son breastfeeding in bed (propping my back against the headboard) and also on the bench down, and do not really spend much time at his farm in general (unless changing his diaper), because he slept in a crib in my room for the first 2.5 months (I was recovering from a C-section too). I'm just now trying to transition him to his bed (he is 13 weeks old today, he still sleeps in his cradle, but sometimes does better than I thought with the cradle). On the nights he sleeps in his crib, I use the glider to breast feed when he wakes up (which is often … every three hours or so) and rock him asleep. It's fun for me because it is an armchair and I finally asleep often, so it's very comfortable. It's very convenient now. I would not say it was absolutely necessary, but it's great that. PS. I got a very comfortable one, looks almost like a beach chair you would find in a living room, not your typical wooden nursery glider as Dutaliers (Even though they were not too comfortable, but just as big). It's nice because it is so padded it's great to sit back and just sleep: o)
