Summer Gelatin Dessert Recipes and Tips
Nothing says good old Summertime as a gelatin dessert.
As a child, I remember my grandmother and great aunt are in competition to see who can connect with the best dessert for our annual Summer family picnic. I must admit, my great aunt usually won!
I think gelatin desserts are just as popular now as they were then. With such a variety of recipes available today, you can create a gelatin dessert each week for next two years, and never twice the same to eat dessert.
To make gelatin desserts, you should invest in a gelatin mold. These fungi usually have three parts: a bottom seal, a top liner and the ring. A variety of companies make gelatin molds, and they can be easily found in any kitchen shop or department store.
Gelatin Dessert Making Tips
1. Keep refrigerated gelatin desserts for best results. Let them sit for long periods of time, can lead to decay or melt.
2. Keep your desserts in an airtight container to a thick rubbery skin gelatin to prevent.
3. You can moisten the gelatin mold with non-stick cooking spray to to prevent sticking.
4. Let all the liquid from canned vegetables before adding them to your gelatin. If too much fluid, you can cause your not set gelatin. If you decide to use liquid vegetable, you should decrease the amount of water your recipe.
5. You can un-mold most gelatin desserts on a plate or platter lined with fresh lettuce leaves. This makes a nice presentation.
Here are four of my favorite recipes.
Pineapple Cream
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
1 (3 ounce) pkg. lime gelatin
1 / 2 pint cream lite
1 (8 ounce) pkg. cream cheese
Bring pineapple to boil. Add lime gelatin and stir until dissolved, let cool in the pan. Put cream and cream cheese block into the blender. Mix. Combine ingredients in blender the ingredients in the pan. Pour into Jel-Ring mold. Chill overnight. Remove the seal of the UN-mold and serve.
Triple Orange Delight
6 oz. pkg. orange jello
2 c. boiling water
1 pint orange sherbet
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
Fresh orange slices for garnish
Dissolve orange gelatin in boiling water. Add orange sherbet, stir until melted. Add mandarin oranges. Pour into the Jel-Ring mold and refrigerate until set in. UN mold on a plate and garnish with orange slices.
Cherry Cola Fantasy
C. 1 canned pitted cherries, drained
3 / 4 c. sugar
1 / 2 c. water
6 oz. box cherry gelatin mix
C. 1 chopped nuts (optional)
C. 1 crushed pineapple, drained
1 bottle (12 ounces) Cola Soda
Combine cherries, sugar and water, bring to a boil and cook for one minute. Stir the gelatin mixture with a spatula. Add chopped nuts (optional) and crushed pineapple. Mix, stir in cola. Pour into the Jel-Ring mold and seal. Refrigerate for 6 hours. UN mold on a serving plate.
Raspberry Cream
3 oz. pkg. raspberry gelatin
C. 1 cream, whipped
10 oz. frozen, thawed, drained raspberries
Dissolve the gelatin according to package directions, using 1 cup of boiling water and juice with cold water to make 1 cup. Chill until almost firm. Beat gelatin until foamy. Fold gelatin being beaten, whipped cream and berries removed. Pour into Jel-Ring mold and refrigerate until firm.

On August 9 will be mine and my friends one year anniversary of going out, which is really a big deal for me and him. I am thinking of planning a picnic at our favorite park, we went all the time last fall. I am making his favorite sandwich, white bread, sausage Munster cheese and summer. For a drink, Coca-Cola. For fruit grapes, apples and strawberries. For dessert is possibly homemade biscuits and / or puppy chow. But I do not know if I should have a blanket, like Chiche movies, or on a picnic table … Then we pedal on a local lake and I will possibly be taking him to the local arberedeum. If you have more opinions on food, or something that is not expensive, I'm on a budget and would like some imput on this event! Thanks!
I just think that the person with whom it is shared will be more important than the food served. It is usual for a picnic salad to have a sort of salad, usually a potato or pasta, but I think for a little added romance, you brighten up the complexity a bit. As spinach and balsamic vinegar are available to you: + roasted garlic olive oil + Balsamic vinegar + salt + pepper vinaigrette makes for a kickass on the cheap, and a spinach salad with a lot of other bits – sliced red onion, tomatoes, bean sprouts if you have them somewhere in the refrigerator. It's light. Cheap A similar combination of toasted bread is called bruschetta: toasted bread rubbed with garlic and sometimes with something like tomatoes. Another simple, inexpensive one that feels romantic insalada Caprese: fresh basil, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese. Watermelon can be combined with crushed mint – mint grows everywhere, just find someone whose backyard is awash with the stuff – to the more refreshing. Or you can use a total raw cranberry sauce if you cranberies puree with orange zest and orange: let it sit overnight to develop the characteristic red color – always delicious. And avocados are great to work for something. And and and … I'll shut up now. ^_^;;
