Gloss What should I use?
I got my son a bed of fire wood and I painted in a satin gloss varnish spray. However, the paint wipes off quite easily and one resistant and glossy finish I need to gloss protection. I would prefer to do this with a spray shine if I hate everything, but I'm struggling with that one when so much. I got one called the Humbrol Crystal Clear Acrylic Spray. Can anyone tell me if this will be good or not and whether it is safe for a child's work. Thx
Joanne, Dried gloss is not harmful to children, but I wonder why the original paint is not adhering to the wood. Even if you seal the shine is just as well stick if the paint underneath. I can only reason why the paint will not stick. Maybe if you sprayed the paint and held up the can too far away from the surface. This would lead to the paint dry before You basically hit the surface and it has no ability to permeate and cling to the wooden surface. It can be dusty. I think it would be wise to present paint, and re-spray to remove. In order for something to hold over the surface of the paint, paint must be permanently adhere to the wood. It is extra work, but you do not want Your child always rub the paint, just through normal daily contact. good luck
