The different characteristics of the three major Dollhouse Styles
The Victorian, Tudor and Georgian dolls houses are the most collectible items worldwide. Depending on what appeals to the collector, are clearly designed and each has its own distinct signature styles in terms of floors, doors and windows, carvings and designs Pillar, among others. Here is a background of those dolls house designs.
The Victorian
The Victorian dollhouse is created from the actual design of houses during the Victorian period. Victorian building is characterized by small, spacious rooms with elevated asymmetric ceilings and always contains a terrace or balcony. They also have large windows on the front inlet slim.
The Victorian period is the time that Queen Victoria was the ruler of Britain. This meant the closure of all houses in the area will be built using the same structural materials. Houses made of local stone, wood and straw could now, for example, are made of bricks from Bedfordshire and slate from North Wales.
The new, more affordable mass-produced bricks and requires less earthworks and safeguard, so for the first time the British Isles, new mansions, churches, lodges, schools and factories made of the same material, regardless geographical location.
Even with the accessibility and affordability of these new goods were numerous people in the labor force in rural still live in small houses and barns even the 20th century. In towns and villages, lower class members of society lived in end-to-end homes houses called terraces.

The fire was the only way to maintain heat in the house so the residents could feel comfortable during the winter. Today there are houses devoid of functional chimneys as a result of new technology such as keeping the room warm through electronic central heating.
Typical features of Victorian dollhouses
- Metal Railings
- Roofs slate.
- Projecting bay windows
- Flemish brick bonding
- Patterns of colored brick masonry
- Stained glass doors and windows.
- No garage
- Sliding windows (they open the window to scroll up)
During the Victorian era, for many people to the new industrial zones work in machine shops and factories and rows of back-to-back houses with verandas were built to house them. The houses were together, similar to duplex to save space. Each strip was popularly called a terrace.
Terraced houses were very small with two rooms both upstairs and downstairs. There were usually no gardens, only a small back patio where the outhouse was located.
The Tudor
The Tudor period is the era when the Tudor family came to power. It was around the 15th and 16th centuries. Henry VIII is the most famous Tudor monarch. There are many Tudor houses in England today. Some of these houses date back over 500 years ago.
Most mainstream houses during the Tudor period were built craftsmanship. Meaning, they are built Wooden boxes or skeletons, and the spaces between were filled with wet clay called wattle and daub small, like little sticks.
Tudor houses are known about having a 'black and white effect. Many photographers enjoy taking pictures of Tudor houses because of their exclusive elegance and mystery when the photos be printed in black and white.
Houses were usually built of wood and wattle and daub. Wattle is the confused sticks in a wall between messages. Daub is a confused clay, sand and manure and spread on the wattles on the wall to build.
The Georgian
There are many Georgian homes in the United States, particularly in New Orleans. The Georgian period is the era of the royalties on the throne of England had the name George. A classic Georgian house of the 18th century, stylish and "ceremonial" in style. During the Georgian times, there was a heavy load on windows, when Britain was at war and money needed for additional funding. The number of windows in a house was an indication of wealth. Lower class people often had only a small window for each floor. Some people even under their existing windows with bricks in order to avoid the tax, even to the point just from the door as the only hole in the house.
Features of Georgian houses
- Square proportioned shape.
- The door panels in the center
- Posts or columns often to the front of the house.
- Tiled hipped roof that slopes upward from all sides of the structure
- The roof was usually hidden behind a palisade, or a short wall built around the edge of the roof.
- Chimneys that come in pairs
- Sliding
- The windows are smaller than closer to the roof the rest.
