May your favorite snacks improve health
When it seemed that the most delicious food are the least healthy, it is time to put those thoughts aside. Health benefits of nuts, chocolate and blueberries are known for a while, but new studies add further evidence that this ever popular snacks can improve circulation and longevity.
Nuts and chocolate:
They appear on the table of almost every fancy party, and you can nibble (Light) on them without guilt. The latest research says that eating nuts the chance of developing heart disease or diabetes. Nuts may do this because they lower cholesterol, especially in people who are not overweight. How many nuts? only eat 2.5 grams per day can lead to a significant improvement.
And now there is more evidence that chocolate, as eat moderately, a health food. A long-term study (published in April, 2010) of 20 000 residents of Potsdam, Germany noted that "Those who ate the most chocolate (7.5 grams or about 2 oz. Per week) had a 39% lower risk of heart attack or stroke than those who ate little chocolate. "This was the largest study of the chocolate-to-date, and supports previous findings that chocolate may help control blood pressure.
Why nuts and chocolate help people live longer and healthier lives? It may be because they contain substances that the body needs, such as omega-3 fatty acids, flavonols, vitamin E and other nutrients.
But here's the comment. An ounce or two of each every day can do the job consume more than that and the extra calories and the resulting extra pounds outweigh the health benefits of these delicious snacks So, the question is this:. Can you stop nibbling on the nuts and candy to enjoy, or are they just a bit easier to resist when they? not in your home at all?
Blueberries:
Remember this: blueberry (and, presumably, blueberries), if consumed regularly, can improve your memory. A recent study (small, but nevertheless notable) found that a glass of blueberry juice with each meal for 3 months improved the memory of 9 people with mild memory loss. Why? Blueberries and strawberries contain substances that may reduce blood vessel inflammation in the brains. Studies have also argued that blueberries are protective against certain cancers and heart attacks.
