As long as stories are told fairy have always played a very important role in capturing the imagination of both children as adults. Fairies are magical creatures that are believed to involve themselves in human affairs, although they only rarely in humans. There are only three exceptions to this rule. The first is when fairies use their own magical powers to see humans. The second is during a full moon on Midsummer Eve people are able to witness the fairies dancing and partying. The third way a person can see a fee is to look through a stone in which a hole is created due to the tumbling waters of a stream.
There are many stories about the origin of the fairies. A popular belief was that they were the spirits of the dead. Another notion that they themselves and each species can be distinguished provide both men and angels. Some people believed that they were demoted angels. They were cast out of heaven but were not bad enough to go to hell. An interesting story about the origin of the fairies can be found in the stories of Peter Pan. According to this theory as the first baby laughed for the first time its laugh broke into a million pieces and they all skip over. Each piece was then a fee.
Legends about fairies are endless in number. Many legends and fairies come abduct human babies and let chang rope in their place. Sometimes they give newborn baby gifts such as beauty, wealth and kindness. Other legends deal with the fairies in love with people and abduct them away from their earthly loved ones. Many stories deal with disappointed people receiving the payment in the form of fairy gold. Fairy gold could not be trusted because it looks like gold in The fairies used as currency, but once the fairies disappeared would transform into a number of very useless thing as leaves or grass. There are stories that revolve around the protection fairies from the evil of using a cold iron and charms. Fairies were said to be ironed like poison to consider and never go near it. Fairies often used their magic forces to disguise themselves. So they were able to fool people and get away with their pranks or their good deeds without being detected until they had replaced action.
Fairies are depicted in various ways over time. In former days had no fairy wings. They always flew around on the backs of birds or on Ragwort stems. They were depicted in two ways, either as a great shining angelic beings or short wizened trolls. Contemporary interpretations show fairies as small beautiful young human creatures with wings attached to them.
It is believed that witnessed a fairy funeral is an omen of death and that someone loved by the person watching to the funeral or he himself will soon stop.
