What makes and Nurturing Strong Families?

Man has the longest dependence on others than any other living creature. We spend our lives in relationships, either toxic or staff member. If the family of origin is not supportive and loving, we either repeat the pattern or look to other mentors and teachers.

You can visualize a closed fist as opposed to an open hand? That's the difference between a closed and dysfunctional group and a learning, sharing and supportive. The closed is an inward and hard in the opinion and expectations. The open is a welcoming and willing to help others and get help.

Open or closed Families

When we look at families, either from birth or conscious connection, we admire and want to emulate, there are usually a number of variables present in the makeup. One or more usually absence of a closed or dysfunctional family organizations.

Open communication. The members are free to express opinions and make mistakes without losing love. They talk often and freely express feelings and emotions. They look at new ways to encourage each other and not just doing what has always done. The relatives for help, forgiveness and support when needed.

A sense of "us". A family consists of individuals with different needs and abilities. These people form a synergy where the sum of the parts is greater than either alone. The members of the family know that someone "has their back" and will support their efforts.

Boundaries and guidance. Borders and rules of society are not to keep others out, but in order to keep us safe by understanding the limits of acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

Mutual respect. Strong families provide for a sense of shared history and traditions. The family actively teaches and models morals, ethics and respect for others.

Affectionate and loving. Parents and families who only touch by pushing or pulling not recognize the value of a loving and friendly pat on the head, hug or kiss. Words and deeds of love and acceptance daily experience in strong families and then radiated out to the world.

A sense of optimism and hope for the future. Families that are connected are strong in good times and bad. They model positive coping strategies and life lessons identified in occasional failures.

Can you and your family to change, even if negative patterns are established during a long period of time? The answer is a resounding yes. The more we know, the more we grow. What is the best family friendly neighborhood in Maryland to return home have?

My husband and I live in New York with our 3 years old son. The cost of living are expensive in NY and was considering looking for affordable homes in Maryland next summer 2008. Trust brokers are tough because they are not completely fair. By other people's experience, let us know of any city / neighborhood in Maryland, which is family friendly (schools, parks, shopping centers, best home locations near families w / children). We did not want to a site visit with high crime rates as we do in New York City. Thanks for any help you can contact us!
