Would anyone know where a sculptor can find work in canada?
My skill relates to action figures, Halloween masks, busts, relief, dental laboratory work, and many others. I am capable of sculpture in a wide range of mediums and also molding and casting skills working in various urethanes and silicones. I am looking for a fulltime position. Freelance has more disadvantages than advantages, so I'm looking for something more consistent as a full-time position.
Have you tried to apply the dental laboratory? Find whether there are toymakers. Theater set design (lots of carpentry skills also needed). Many sculptors seem to do construction homes / Rehabbing. Check out big car companies when they are new cars. Car design models are actually still built on oil based clay and I know at least sculptors have been well-paid internships. If you have a masters degree in art you can look for teaching jobs at universities (though if you do not have a good exhibition record thinking I supplement is your best bet.) Generally you can look for teaching jobs, but depending on where and what you might need additional formal qualifications. You can try to get paid by some famous sculptor and join their studio, a document not do their own work, they design and get someone else to do at least a large part of their work. You can hire a foundry making molds.
