Vitamin D Cancer Link
Recent studies show strong evidence of anti-cancer properties of vitamin D increased the possibilities of finding a cure or ways to prevent disease. A deadly disease, which is the curse of modern society, cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth and division of a group of cells. Role of vitamin D
Very conveniently for us, Vitamin D not only strengthens our immune system helps us fight various diseases such as influenza, but it also keeps heart disease at bay and improves our overall health, reduce mortality. Vitamin D helps the absorption of calcium and its role in strengthening the bones, which in turn prevents degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis. It also acts as a mood lifter reducing depression. Although the health benefits of vitamin D have long known, a recent study has shown that vitamin D affects more than 200 genes including those responsible for multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Type I diabetes and cancer. Studies have long ago that lack of sunlight leads to cancer demonstrated. People living in colder climates and with a limited exposure to sunlight are more susceptible to cancer. Although sunlight has been linked to cancer a long time ago, only recent studies revealed the fact that it is really a lack of vitamin D light that causes cancer. This breakthrough in science has shown that nearly 17 types of cancer can result from a vitamin D deficiency.
Breast cancer
One of the most common cancers affecting women, breast cancer develops in the breast tissue into the milk ducts or milk glands of the channels. The factors that can lead to breast cancer include age, race, menarche, childbirth, menopause and alcohol. Recent studies on breast cancer also have vitamin D grades. In the case of older women, this is more important since the age of vitamin D deficiency also increases and so do older women have a higher risk of breast cancer. With age, vitamin D supplementation is increasingly necessary.
Colorectal Cancer
Also known as large bowel cancer or colon cancer, colorectal cancer occurs in the rectum, colon and appendix. The results of the EPIC study (European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition) which also highlighted the link vitamin D cancer, monitors the lifestyle and dietary habits of an equal number of patients with cancer and cancer-free participants. The study showed that vitamin D levels were significantly lower in participants who had cancer. It was concluded that the people who have the highest levels of vitamin D had in their circulation (100nm per liter) were a 40% lower risk of developing cancer compared with those with the lowest vitamin D levels (25Nm per liter).
But the positive aspects of these findings is that investigations of the unveiling of the vitamin D link to cancer have shown that with the right vitamin D supplementation, the risk of developing cancer can be reduced to a great extent. We can manufacture vitamin D from:
