Blue and Green Wedding Flowers
Looking for a fresh taste to your wedding flowers? Try combining the colors blue and green flowers. Although not the easiest colors to find fresh flowers, there are some nice options for the blossoms in cool colors, and combined the results will be nothing less than amazing.
Without doubt, the number one favorite blue wedding flower is the blue hydrangea. Full, lively and classic, there is nothing better for a summer affair. A simple but beautiful design for a bridal bouquet is to pair several stalks of blue and a few stems of green hydrangea. Cut the stalks, wrap with floral tape, and cover with a Luxury wide white satin ribbon for a DIY bridal bouquet is elegant and simple. For more texture, use of smaller and larger varieties of hydrangeas.
The same blue and green hydrangeas, which make a beautiful and simple bouquet can be made more formal with the addition of white roses. They look so nice for flower arrangements, and beautiful centerpieces. Imagine a complete package of hydrangeas and roses on top of a footed urn form vase for a breathtaking centerpiece. If you want to play the femininity of the scheme, set it on a tablecloth with a soft blue and green floral pattern in shades of watercolor. The same colors are beautiful in the wedding as the bridesmaid dresses and jewelry, stationery, and even the wedding cake.
As beautiful as they are, hydrangeas are by no means the only choice for the blue and green flowers for your wedding. A beautiful accent flower is deep blue Muscari, also known as Grape Hyacinth. They are much like small clusters of red grapes, and have a nice drapey effect, perfect for dripping around the edge of a romantic bouquet, or around a center point. The better-known standard format hyacinth are also a great flower for a bride looking for blue colored flowers. They look very sweet planted in white and blue decorative pots for Spring Garden weddings. The form of hyacinth petals combines beautifully with a mixed floral arrangement of hydrangea bushes.
Brides delicate flowers who would like what can be done with green orchids. Both lady slipper and cymbidium varieties can be found in green, some even have spots or stripes. They really are amazing all by themselves, or in combination with other types of flowers. A compact with a few green orchid bouquet will look fresh and feminine, or opt for pure drama with a generous green orchid cascade bouquet with greenery and trailing ribbons.
There are a number of additional options for vibrant green bridal bouquets and centerpieces. Compact bright green Kermit mother (can you guess how they got the name?) Is one of the most versatile and cheerful green flowers. They nestle very well among other flowers, and would be great with a mixture of blue flowers like hydrangea, delphinium, and muscari. For a fun and summery style, small limes are added to blue and green flowers, a simple idea with a big impact is to fill a clear glass vase with limes and put the blue and green flowers on top.
It should also be mentioned that carnations available are painted in a lime green color. While I normally do not advocate painted flowers, There is something about the lime carnations that can be very hip and modern, as long as they are arranged in a very full and round shape with no other flower varieties. It is an intriguing modern and funky bouquet to pair with a contrasting color, like cherry red bridesmaid dresses, just not your employees dress in a matching green bridesmaid dresses and jewelry with all-green bouquet, otherwise they will be the ones that are reminiscent of Kermit the frog!
