Kelly Baggett: Does Kelly Baggett's program?
If you read this article, you've probably heard of Kelly Baggett and his vertical jump bible. If you like me, you are probably now surfing the net looking for answers to questions like … Should I fork my hard earned money to buy it? … Is it worth it? … and I trust that guy?
If a long vertical jump enthusiast myself, I have purchased many programs, including Kelly's vertical jump bible. I'll give you my honest opinion of Kelly Baggett and his program so you can see if his program is right for you.
For starters, Kelly Baggett writes in a very simple, down to earth way. He prefers to use evidence with real world examples and evidence, instead of complicated scientific jargon. I found that this makes it much easier understand concepts.
The program itself is dead-easy to follow. He actually has 20 different programs to follow. Kelly gets you to do 3 basic tests, and the results of these tests to determine which program you follow. Each set, rep and rest and he is scheduled exercise photos and descriptions for each exercise in program.
What's also nice that the program calls for training only twice a week, each session lasts about one hour. This is how he differs from other programs. He focuses on recovery, which is vital. If you train too much you train, and never achieve the results you are after.
I found it very easy for its concepts to understand, because the amount of real world evidence that it operates. He gives many concrete examples and proves that every person who has a great vertical jump has a few common qualities / characteristics. His program is based simply on improving these qualities.
For example, he emphasizes the need to improve your strength weight ratio, especially with the leg exercises. I mean get stronger without that much heavier.
A common feature, he points out that all great jumpers can squat a lot of weight. He uses real world examples, such as …
• NBA prospects have an average one step vertical of 28-30 inches, where as the average NFL linebacker prospect, weighing 250 pounds jumps over 36 inches!
• An average high jumper who might weigh about 165 pounds, and then stand 6'5 tall, 300 pounds can squat over
• Olympic sprinters have vertical leaps of more than 40 inches, and can squat 2-3 times their body weight
• Many heavyweight Olympic weightlifters, although work with grease, can still jump up to 40 inches
• A power lifter who weighs 1000 pounds and squats 250 pounds has a vertical jump around 40 inches, without vertical jump training
Another thing that Kelly Baggett does, that is rare nowadays, is that he does what he preaches. He has proven first hand that his system works by improving his vertical jump from 23 inches to 42 inches. At 5'9 he can dunk.
Finally, I have wasted much money on vertical jump programs. From experience I believe Kelly Baggett program provides the most value for your money. It is cheap compared to other programs on the market, but is probably the most effective vertical jump training you will find.

Why do a lot of skinny boxers have one punch KO power, and a lot of big muscular fighters do not?
Thomas Hearns, Tito Trinidad, Kelly Pavlik his scrawny fellows are a powerful punch knockout artist. guys like Hagler, or Andre Berto, who looks like a football player, a hard punch, but not punch KO power. I have always wondered about this. what do you guys think?
percentage wise, older boys are much more likely to deliver a knockout is a little boy. Math.
