Removing Kool-Aid Stains
Kool Aid can be a mess! It's great stuff, until you clean up! The dreaded red dye is the worst! Unfortunately, people living with red stains on their carpet and clothing. Well, there's a method that can remove Kool-Aid and leave your clothes and carpets looking new.
The first, not rub the stain! Blot the stain! This ensures that the burial spot of the carpet fibers and makes it harder to remove. A good quality paper towel (muscular) works well. Continue to blot until the stain is no more red color on the paper towel. Once the red color is gone it's time to start the removal.
The method is used the red color of the carpet to remove said Heat Transfer. This method requires a number of tools. You have a bucket, steam iron, a towel (washcloth) and ammonia. All these products can be purchased at your local supermarket.
Follow these steps:
- Let iron heat (medium)
- Take the bucket and mix 1 part hot water and 1 part ammonia
- Place the cloth towel in the bucket
- Remove the towel and wring bucket
- Place the towel on top of stain
- Take the iron and place it on top of wet towel
- Leave for 20-25 seconds and remove (stain will transfer to towel)
* At this point stain should be removed from the carpet to the towel
* Do not re-treat, often your carpet color will fade!
Make sure the iron carefully watch! If you start to smell anything unusual immediately remove the iron! This process works, but be careful!

How much power is in a Kool- Aid packet?
I really need to know how much of the Kool-Aid powder there is in a single package of Kool-Aid.
I mean like, about how many tablespoons (or teaspoons) of powder is there in there?
I have 2 packets in front of me. Both are the little unsweetened kind.
The Black Cherry weighs 0.13 oz. (3.6g)
The Lemonade weighs 0.23 oz. (6.5g)
I suppose the weight depends on the flavor and how many chemicals they need to make it taste the way they want it to.
