Tunisian Crochet
Hello crochet lovers,
You already know the basic crochet stitches. Now you want a little more. You may want to learn crochet or stabbing something new. Well, crochet with the possibilities are endless. You can learn in advance crochet stitches where I have an entire issue of the newsletter dedicated.
Something sophisticated yet simple, the Tunisian stitch known as the Afghan stitch, stockinette stitch, knit line, Shepherd's knit or crochet knitting. Tunisian stitch is easy to learn and helps create a strong dust-like product, making it an excellent stitch for making Afghans. Tunisian crochet lends definitely good and bad sides to the final creation, which is great for embroidery and cross stitch.
Tunisian crochet hook is different from the mainstream in the sense that you should never work again. The Tunisian crochet, go forward on a row and then come back on Similarly, without turning your work around. The only time a Tunisian crochet project is enabled when the first row to do after creating the foundation chain at the beginning of the project.
Another factor that distinguished Tunisian crochet hook is the standard that every row is a two-step process. Unlike the hook projects using sutures, other than Tunisian stitch in Afghan stitch you pick up stabbing the previous row and then come back to pull the thread through all stabbing picked up on the hook. In this respect, Tunisian crochet is a kind of combination of knitting and crochet.
Tunisian crochet hook is usually larger than standard crochet hooks. Think of Tunisian crochet needle as a knitting needle with a hook at one end. This is especially useful if you work on major projects such as Afghans and adult size sweaters.
You might have seen a double-ended crochet hook with needle at both ends of the stick. This type of hook is used in crochetnit, a Tunisian crochet technique that is often confused. Crochetnit is also known as Cro-hook Cro-knit or crochet on the double
Something you should be careful when using Tunisian stitch is often count the number of stabbing. Careless handling can cause stabbing drop as in knitting. Fixing dropping stabbing, while hooks is time consuming and frustrating. Do your best to avoid skipping stabbing.
Once you are comfortable doing the Afghan stitch, experiment with using two or more colors to color patterns.

Has anyone made the hook Afghan Stained Glass Afghan Beauty for All Seasons book?
My daughter fell in love with the stained glass Beauty in the Afghans for All Seasons book. The pattern does not show the colors like MC and CC. Has anyone made and what might suggest yarns and colors?
I dont have the book nor seen the Afghan, but I think there is a bright colorful yarn for main color and black as a contrasting color would work.
