Collectible Barbie Dolls
Barbie is a best-selling fashion doll launched in 1959. The doll is produced by Mattel, Inc., and is an important source of revenue for the company. The American businesswoman Ruth Handler (1916-2002) is regarded as the maker of Barbie, the doll and its design was inspired by a German doll Bild Lilli mentioned.
Barbie is an important part of the toy fashion doll market for nearly fifty years, and has been the subject of numerous controversies and lawsuits, often parody of the doll and her lifestyle.
Collecting:
Mattel estimates that well over 100,000 avid Barbie collectors. Ninety percent are women at an average age of 40, purchasing more than twenty Barbie dolls each year. Forty-five percent of them spend more than $ 1000 per year.
Vintage Barbie dolls from the early years the most valuable at auction, and while the original Barbie was sold for $ 3.00 in 1959, a mint boxed Barbie from 1959 sold for 3552.50 dollars on eBay in October 2004. In recent years Mattel has sold a wide range of Barbie dolls aimed specifically at collectors, including porcelain versions and depictions of Barbie as a range of characters from television series like The Munsters and Star Pull There are also collector's edition dolls depicting Barbie dolls with a range of different ethnic identities. In 2004 Mattel introduced the Color tier system for the publication of its collector's Barbie dolls, ranging through pink, silver, gold and platinum depending on how many of the dolls are produced.

American girls dolls to remind the line accecories?
I was looking at the American Girl Doll website (see, out of interest, as they were made in America) and found at the bottom of their page in small red print … recall information. Yes you guessed it a number of accecories lead. American Girl Inc. is a division of Mattel inc. Its not on the Mattel product recall site that a division of the company. So I thought you all can see as the link to when the recalled item. Http: / / www.americangirl.com/recall/ The dolls themselves are not recalled, but some children have accecories jewelry. It would be interesting to know if people would stop buying the dolls know that a division of Mattel. So many people see Mattel as the enemy and refuse to buy their products.
I will not stop buying their products, they did not intentionally, Just poor quality control. It does kind of tick me off that they saw problems with the magnets in the Polly pockets and fixed long before they issued a recall on the affected toys … I actually kind of blame myself. I wondered how secure they were the first time we bought one with the magnets. I should have trusted my instincts. There is no way to known about the lead paint is.
