Makers of Cross Pens Focus more on quality than on Design
The name "pen" is derived from the Latin word "Penna", meaning feathers. This is a written instrument manually by means of capillary action of ink applied to a surface, usually paper. Pens can be used with inks of many colors but usually use the ink in colors ranging from white, blue, red and sometimes green. There are many different types of pens, some of which are listed here ie Reed Pens, Quills, metal pens, fountain pens, ballpoint pens, felt tip pens, roller balls and the porous Point. All pins are made around the world this different. Pens are also classified depending on the type of tip that guides the pen, there is the pen, the rollerball pen, fountain pen, the marker and gel pen.
Cross pens appeared in 1846 as the elegant creation of Richard Cross; his life Richard Cross patented an incredible number of twenty one pens until he passed the business to his son Alonzo. At present the company prides itself on preserving the oldest tradition in the design and manufacture of chirography instruments.
In 1879, the precursor of the ballpoint pen was released by the company a significant commercial impact, and later, in 1930 the company's first fountain pen appeared. In 1946 the company's new logo, the Century was introduced, and it still retains its meaning, even today. Since the beginning the company has sold over one hundred million pens as a symbol of quality and longevity.
Cross pens are known as the more traditional than trendy, they focus more on quality rather than design, and here the Century II model is the best example possible because this is the one to combinerefinement with a high class style. In 1916 Walter R. Boss bought the company and encouraged his son Ellery to share his passion for good pens. Ellery with his father in 1920 and led the company for over forty years to retire going until 1966.
In those years Cross a company better known as a line of personal leather accessories than as a pen maker. However, after a certain rising path, in 1971, was included on the American Stock Exchange, and later became new partners to begin designing other forms of appreciation beautiful products.
In recent Cross pens self-imposed two decades more like a work of art than simple writing tools, and its price is often considered relevant to the tradition they represent. In 1993 the Townsend fountain pen and ballpoint Selectip were designed, only high quality materials are used in the process we could call ten and eighteen karat gold, black lacquer, Silver Medal and titanium. The Century II in 1996, is mainly based on ten or fourteen carat gold, white wood, black lacquer or rosewood.
These functions are strictly belonged to the Century model for the international market. Another variety is produced exclusively for the Americas, and the pen was twenty-three carat gold, medalist, black and chrome finishes, The set also a pen, a rolling ball pen, a pencil and a 0.5 mm pen. Later models like the ATX, Verve and Apogee respected luxury line of the company has followed from the beginning.
