Common Sales Mistakes Part 2
If the markets turn I thought we could reflect on some lessons learned in the past by very experienced and successful sales people. The following courses are some of the members of my sales as a woman 'research project and for interesting reading' don'ts' to make sales. Here is the second part of a 3 part series on common marketing mistakes.
1. Not listening
Going too fast! Jumping ahead before clarifying the whole picture. I had to learn more about people. Recognizing that not everyone thinks and moves as fast as I at times. [Tia]

Important information is missing because I was so excited about our new offer I talked too much and completely the mark with the customer, whose needs were entirely in another area. [Fay]
2. Making assumptions rely on someone without checking
Guess! I've been caught out by assuming certain things about clients that were totally incorrect and almost lost me a sale. Customer perception is very different my own – never try to guess what they think! [KarenC]
Believing I had a sale before it was closed. Initially I believed what I was told. learned early that you do not have a sale until the contract is signed, money is exchanged or order is given. [Debra]
3. No sales process
Not knowing that there is a logical process to sell. Spending too many years' flying by the seat of my pants "feeling my way through sales and turnover losses in the process. If I, and others like me, knew that a process to learn and to follow, we have made so much more turnover in those early years. Lucky that I learned about before it was too late. [Lucy]
Believe the hype about 'tricks and secrets "to sell when it is a proactive communication process. I would not be wasted so much time and money on self-help books and tried me up so much emotional energy on stress and uncertainty. [Mia]
I entered the sales world quite young and I remember I am completely thrown when a customer I would be an objection. 1:01 sales coaching helped me overcome and changed my perception that the objections are not a negative and in fact were buying signals! [Melissas]
4. Lack of planning
Not the right systems and databases to communicate with our customers a simple process. In the early years of the company, we grew so fast that our systems do not keep! It meant I was a doubling of paperwork to communicate with our clients, who was such a wasting my precious time! Do not use technology to generate reports and keep detailed notes. [Kirsten]
Not having a plan place. I made calls for the importance of the call and most of my early sales career running around like a chook with its head cut off recourse to the wrong kind of people because I do not know what looked like a good customer. [Sue]
5. Too focused on themselves and not the customer
Focused on outcome for myself not the customer. Early in my career, I was bold and aggressive and wanted to sell it, sometimes at the expense of long-term relationship. My customers are now a number of my best referral sources if they know I'm on their needs before my own. [Nicky]
The worst mistake I made as a sales person when I was directed to me and I wanted instead of focusing on others and what they wanted and how I could help them. I noticed that I would be consumed with my goals and what I wanted, I would ignore how this affected my relationships with my clients and ultimately my sales and sales career. [Sally]

Kailey Josephina Nellie mia jess addy Kaya Felicity nicki those who do you like and dislike as one person said, yes these are American girls' names but I always like american girl and the names they have come up with, thats why I chose them
Happiness and Josephina are my favorites. I do not have one of the others because they are all so incredibly stylish and are all nicknames (for Cornelia, Adelaide, Jessica and Nicole, respectively). Every child has to earn a real, full name, not a nickname.
