Japanese School Uniform
Use
In the majority of primary schools students are not required for a uniform wear to school. Where uniforms are required, many boys wear white shirts, shorts and caps. Young boys often dress more formally in their class pictures than they do other days of the school year. Girls' uniforms might include a gray pleated skirt and white blouse. Occasionally the sailor outfit is used for girls. The uniform codes may vary by season working with the environment and opportunity. It is common for both boys and girls in brightly colored caps to prevent wear on the road. It is also normal for uniforms worn outside school areas. This goes out of fashion and many students wearing casual clothes.
The Japanese junior-and senior-high-school uniform consists traditionally a military style uniform for boys and a sailor outfit for girls. These uniforms are based on Meiji era formal military dress, themselves modeled on European-style naval uniforms. The sailor outfit replacing the undivided hakama (Andon bakama), designed by between 192,030 Utako Shimoda. Although this style of uniform is still in use, many schools to more Western-pattern parochial school uniform styles. These uniforms consist of a white shirt, tie, blazer with school crest, and tailored pants (Often the same color as the blazer) for boys and a white blouse, tie, blazer with school crest and tartan culottes or skirts for girls.
No matter what type of uniform for a particular school assigned her students, all schools have a summer version of the uniform (usually consisting of just a white shirt and uniform pants for boys and weight traditional uniform or blouse and tartan skirt with tie for girls) and sports activity uniform (a polyester track suit for the whole year and a t-shirt and shorts for summer activities). Depending on the discipline level of a particular school, students can often wear different seasonal and activity uniforms same classroom during the day. Individual students may try to undermine the system of uniforms by wearing their uniforms incorrectly or by adding prohibited items, such as large loose socks or badges. Girls may shorten their skirts, boys, pants over the hips, omit tires, or keep their shirts buttoned.
Because some schools do not have sex-segregated changing or dressing rooms, students can change for sports activities in their classrooms. As a result, these students contribute their sports uniforms under their classroom uniforms. Some schools also regulate student hairstyles, shoes, bags and books, but these particular rules are usually only acted in special occasions, such as trimester opening and closing ceremonies and school photo days.

The gakuran (?) Or the Tsume-eri (?) Are the uniforms for many middle school and high school boys in Japan. The color is usually black, but some schools use navy and dark blue as well.
The top has a standing collar buttoning down from top to bottom. Buttons are usually decorated with the school emblem to respect the school show. Straight-leg pants and a black or dark colored belt is worn with them. Boys usually wear penny loafers or sneakers with this uniform. Some schools may require that students at the collar-pins that the school and / or class rank wear.
The second button from the top of a single male is often given away to a woman he's in love with, and is considered a way of confession. Such clothing was also worn by school children in South Korea and pre-1949 China.
Sailor outfit

The sailor outfit (sr-Fuku?) Is a common style of uniform worn by female middle school and high school students, and occasionally, primary school pupils. It was introduced as a school uniform in 1920 in Heian Jogakuin (?) And 1921 by the principal of Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University (?), Elizabeth Lee. It was modeled after the uniform used by the British Royal Navy at the time that Lee had experience as an exchange student in the UK
Much like the male uniforms, gakuran, the sailor outfit bears a strong resemblance to several military-style naval uniforms. The uniform usually consists of a blouse attached with a sailor-style collar and a pleated skirt. There are seasonal variations for summer and winter: sleeve length and fabric are adjusted accordingly. A ribbon tied to the front and laced through a loop attached to the blouse. Several variations on the Ribbon are neckties, bolo ties, scarves, and bows. Colors are dark blue, white, gray, light green and black.
Shoes, socks and other accessories are sometimes included as part of the uniform. These socks are usually dark blue or white. The shoes are usually brown or black Penny loafers. Although not part of the prescribed uniform, alternative forms of hosiery (like loose socks, knee socks, or something similar) is often associated with more fashionable girls with their sailor outfits.

Different schools are known for their special uniforms. Uniforms may be a nostalgic characteristic for former students, and is often associated with a relatively carefree youth. Uniforms are sometimes modified by students as a means of exhibiting individualism, including lengthening or shortening the skirt, removing the ribbon, hiding patches or badges under the collar, etc. In the past decades, brightly colored versions of the sailor outfit were also adopted by Japanese yankee and Bszoku motorcycle gangs.
Because school uniforms are a popular fetish item, his second sailor outfits and other items the school to contribute mediated through underground establishments known as burusera, although changes in Japanese law have made such practices difficult.
