Irony In the Olympic Uniform Issues
There was a time when people did not care what clothes they will wear and what they look like her. There was a time when people compete in the Olympics not only care about how they look and what would their clothes to bring to their performances. There was even a time when clothing was just simply a faculty as cover athletes for private body parts in all you can see, sports bras and short shorts. All these, like the lead in the IOC, now brings a little twist when a number of athletes and other leaders in corporate uniforms expressed some concern about the way other athletes dress especially the clothes that they wear.
The questions deal with technical, scientific and others are purely traditional foods unethical. Not known to many, there were stories that were on the Internet blogged about how a gymnast at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 was treated for dressing. Some countries have responded to conservative but just to compete Fri they satisfied the decision. Gymnasts, especially girls, were reportedly not allowed to wear underwear, except for their leotards. According to Wikipedia, gymnastics rules are very strict on the dress that they deduct points for a player contrary to the teachings.
Among the most controversial issue uniforms was received from a number of corporate executives wearing some countries on the high-end swimsuits used by the U.S. team in the recent Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. NASA made even a message about the new swimwear that the U.S. contingent will be used for the said event with Michael Phelps as one of the signatories and later user of the gear. The outcome of the dispute is somehow not clear with the American team that still can use swim suit and said Phelps broke his own record of acquiring the most medals in the Olympics.
It is precisely this most recent Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Now, it has nothing to do with the dynamics the clothes or the uniform rules of the sport, but the tradition that embodies the sport and dress probably used for the above sports. It was Nate Holland reacted when his favorite sports – snowboarding – is being played racing suits, rather than using the conventional loose jeans and stuffs like that. Well, he and other colleagues call for a stricter rule to restrict or prohibit the use of tight pants at the prestigious Olympic race.
The irony is that, Phelps and his colleagues fought to pursue a diving gear that can help the athlete to accelerate through the use of the advantage of studying the physics, while Holland will disrespect other athletes in his sport to the sport with the speed suits. Holland and Phelps are both from the USA and represents the country at the Olympics.
It is good however, that the athletes, their practitioners, and the commission will consider the merits of each issue is thrown. It is also better to go back to the time where people compete without taking as much reference to how they look during the game.
