How do I find a local dealer to sell art through my? I sculpt OOAK dolls and Mask.?
I am a very good artist (I have several awards and ribbons), but not at all a business person. I simply do not know how a good gift shop or shops to sell my work through. I live close in Indianapolis IN, USA and some other large cities. My art includes one of a kind (OOAK) dolls and Mask. I do not like using e-bay.
you would have your own research. Usually there are certain areas in a city where a lot of galleries is located, or think that if this kind of a mall shops. Perhaps consider the stores buy your supplies from, if not online, that would probably be easiest. Anyway, you check out various shops and galleries, and items that they do relatively similar to yours to see. A gallery specializing in Southwestern art or Japanese art is obviously not going to be interested in your items. Once you find a number of possible places where you can check whether they are artists submission instructions on the internet (some galleries do) or ask the store if they accept everything in order and with whom you should contact about this. It is a big job and I would recommend reading through some of the articles in the link below to give you ideas for what kind of approaches are more likely to work. Keep in mind many stores around 50% commission to hold.
