Ryman Theatre – One of Nashville Gems

The Ryman Auditorium is known as the Ryman Theater. Disregarding the name, the location is one of the most historic theaters in the U.S.. It is found in Nashville Tennessee. The Ryman Auditorium was first opened as the Union Gospel Church in 1892. It was compiled by a person called Thomas Ryman, who was a businessman in Nashville at the time.

From 1943 to 1974, the Ryman Theatre was the home of the Grand Ole Opry. After 1974 the local Sat lifeless for many years. In the beginning of 1990 country singer, Emmylou Harris, to help kick start the rebuilding of the theater with a series of concerts in the hall.

In 2001, the Ryman Auditorium was designated as a National Historic Landmark many of the most famous acts in the world are performed in the Ryman Theater. The acts are not just limited to country music too. Some high profile performers in the last few years, Bruce Springsteen, Black Crowes, Norah Jones, Ryan Adams and Kings of Leon. Neil Young filmed his photograph titled Heart of gold at the Ryman Auditorium.

The location is well known for some of the best acoustics in the country. Many clients require not a bad seat in the house. The Ryman Theatre is open for tours every day of the week. You can actually stand on stage and pretend you're a rising star.

Ryman tickets often sell out in seconds due to the fact that many artists who would fill the larger venues decide to play here instead of somewhere with a larger capacity. The capacity of the Ryman is only 2362 seats.

Can you guess my name?

I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and known by a nickname that was given to me after Ole Opry comedian Rod Field's Bras Grand ventriloquist dummy, I was raised by my mother after my father died in 1953. My rise to fame began with lessons on the piano of Jerry Lee Lewis. I also learned the guitar. I began performing when I was eight years old, and in 1963 I made my debut with "Long Gone Lonesome Blues", a song that was a staple of the career of my father.
