Babies: general abuse of Pacifiers
Experts have voiced valid concerns regarding the use (and abuse) of pacifiers. Not only pacifiers can cause 'nipple confusion' in an infant, it is also associated with premature weaning. A newborn infant is driven to suck on anything placed in their mouth, including a finger or pacifier. In a sick, small, infant jaundice, or relaxed, this drive to suck may become a substitute for feedings, because the urge to suck are met.
Some babies can be satisfied with the simple act of sucking, and if a weary mom or dad decides to try the pacifier in an attempt the baby to sleep for an extended period of time or continue to get between feedings, it can result in problems such as poor weight gain, and the nursing mother, mastitis, engorgement, a decrease in milk supply, breastfeeding or connected lines. Soothers and teats are designed so they automatically stimulate the spot in the back the mouth of babies, between the hard palate and soft palate that stimulates the sucking reflex.
This could create a "lazy baby" those problems drawing of mom's nipple in his mouth far enough back to that same sucking reflex is stimulated during feeding time. The shape of the pacifier can even lead to changes in the arch of the soft bony roof of the mouth, are the high and narrow around the shape of the pacifier.
It is very important two common but very damaging, practices to prevent the use of pacifiers. First, do not have to attach the pacifier on a string that is readily available within the reach of the baby should the urge strike. This is especially dangerous when the baby becomes mobile and learning to crawl and roll, and would pose a risk of suffocation. Second, do not dip the pacifier tip in honey or something equally sweet, as this could introduce holes in the teeth of the baby. Generally, infants and toddlers not regular dental checkups like older children and adults, so therefore as a cavity should develop as a result of such practice, it can lead to serious damage and pain in the baby's mouth and teeth.
And finally, at the height of The overuse or abuse of a pacifier. If your baby is not fussy or upset, a pacifier is not the case. Be aware of how you feel as a parent when you offer a pacifier for your baby. Is it really to pacify baby? Or is it more to pacify you?

Was it difficult for your baby to take pacifier?
I heard as a baby sleeps with a pacifier reduces the risk of SIDS. I tried to give my baby a pacifier and sometimes she does take it or spits it out shortly after it in her mouth. Do babies usually have a hard time getting used to it or is it they either take or they dont?
Pacifiers can be tricky to learn how to suck. They require a different kind of lock and sucking movement. Both my daughters loved their pacifiers, but it was quite a while before they were able to actually hold the thing in their mouth all the time. There is a difference between the baby completely rejecting the pacifier and the baby to, but just not able to get the hang of it all the time. To figure out what is true for your baby. To offer, but dont force it. And if you're breastfeeding, be careful of nipple confusion. If you baby has trouble latching on the breast, concluded the Binky. I'd love in my online moms group!
