Are you a Collector Collecting Collectibles?
Everything that exists is fair game for collectors. It seems like everyone collects something. For some of us that is at fault. The biggest items to collect stamps and coins. Both are interesting and easily available to everyone, but the really big stuff is too expensive for us worker bees.
The gathering is at least as old as mankind and probably dates back to us. Among collectors, there is a distinction between the gathering of the really old (antique) and yet so old (collectibles). Although it seems that everything you collect, a "collector", those who collect antique feel the need to be separated from the great unwashed. That's OK by me though I do wash regularly.
Something that draws your interest is a good candidate for the collection. Porcelain figurines are a very popular area of interest. Most people have very specific with their statuettes. They choose all the angels or dragons or fairies, or whatever. Unlike stamps or coins, the best collectible figurines are not limited to the most expensive. Sometimes a majority of a collection can be porcelain, but reinforced by other things. I once knew a lady who collected owls. Many of the owls were porcelain, but many others were from other materials such as wood, fabric, various metals, and some pictures. It was just an owl eligibility are.
I have over the years a number of other things than dust and liabilities, such as glass insulators collected, chess, and for a while, rocks. No gemstones hearing. Rocks. These were all short interest. I am like an old dog. My attention is directed to the following rabbit runs.
Collectibles general should be or beautiful, unusual, or have some historical significance. Pretty tends to attract the female collectors, historical to the males, and everyone grabs unusual, with overlapping in all categories. Certainly there are other reasons for the collection and in some cases no apparent reason. When prompted, do not answer why you collect whatever it is you collect. In any case, the only criticism you have to listen, your own
Most people are collectors without aware of it. If you take note and realize that you have a lot of snuff boxes laying around that just seemed to pile up, then you are basically a snuff box collector or snuff or not you ever dipped. Now you must organize. Store each item and document any circumstance you have, how trivial it seems. You may or may not be interested in the value of your collection, but over time, if you're really good documentation, your offspring can actually do something with your "things" differently than the dunping.
Some people plan their collections that they research the item before deciding to collect or not. These people are engaged in the collection as an investment. This is a risky business as a collection of items are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Beware of publications listing prices collections. They can be disastrous misleading. Once you find something you already collecting, cataloging and identifying each item will not only improve the value of the collection, but also your enjoyment.
Collections are not limited to, tangible, lifeless objects. Many people collect fish, birds, dogs, cats and other living things. Others collect intangible assets such as travel, memories, observations, and the like. The intangible assets would be hard pressed to collections without documentation. Although these collections have no monetary value, their value measured by those who collect.

Search for second in Avon Barbie ornament series?
The series was "Ballet Series of Collectible Barbie Porcelain Ornaments Only the Avon" I know that the first ornament was the Sugar Plum Fairy and the third ornament was Marzipan. I do not even know if the second piece was based on the Nutcracker, but I guess it was. I wonder if anyone knows the name of the second ornament and maybe where I can find. Thanks for your help.
