Introducing your child to Reading
The children of today are concerned with information overload from the beginning. With television and the Internet a part of each household, there is little room for the things that kids kept busy in the past decades do – read or play on their own or with friends for example. Still, a number of developing reading skills in children highly desirable, and will implement them in their lives. Concentration, vocabulary, knowledge of life and imagination are the most important of these.
How then can a parent a child to introduce books since childhood, without succumbing to the temptations of the colorful, vibrant scenes?
1. Reading while you are pregnant. For people who believe suggestions during the pregnancy, I would suggest reading your child even while in the womb.
2. Let your child that you read. Your child uses the image of a parent with a book, long before he / she begins to understand what the book is, let alone what the parent participates.
3. Read your newborn. If you read during breastfeeding, reading aloud – even if the book is intended for adults. The simple act of reading is a ritual in this way – a child who grows up with.
4. When the child can understand words … It's time to read to the child rather than just read about in his / its presence. Start with books that are not easily torn or broken – hard cardboard works well. If you are not satisfied with the content or quality of the books you buy, even commission that you have older children to draw pictures for a story you write.
5. Use flash cards. Most adults read by the recognition of forming words, instead of the spelling of individual letters. Using flash cards, you can order your child to do so from an early age. It is also an attractive game to him / her busy and relatively quiet for some time.
6. Pick books that you can accept. Keep an eye on the messages being conveyed the books your children read. Today more and more children's books, including people of all sizes, colors and shapes – Trying to get the culture of white, hourglass-thought barbie destroy.
While reading, writing and speaking use different parts of the brains, these are all equally essential to developing of a good vocabulary. So encourage your child to talk about what he / she has read and imaginary situations to pull out the books recently read.
A child can express what he / she feels – in words or images – is better equipped for social situations, scenarios and academic life in general to treat. Speak also forces the child to use the information to be read. Asking the child about the books they have read will also help parents keep track of learning progress and may learning disabilities also possible to detect the earliest stages. Clearly, this also promotes parent-child interaction.
