Russian Women step aside for Stalin's Miracles
While in Moscow, if temporarily tear your gaze away from the multitude of beautiful Russian women, one of the most majestic and impressive sights for any visitor to the impressive "Seven Sisters" – a series of awe-inspiring skyscrapers the same architectural design and are strategically positioned in the capital. This overwhelming urban monuments were built between 1947 and 1953 by order of then Soviet supreme leader, Joseph Stalin, and built for the purpose of the amazing visitors and offers a central point for the surrounding metropolis.
The enchanting septuplets are impressive towers, the guardians of the central Moscow , and consist of two hotels, two residential condominiums, two office buildings and a university. With all the elegant balance of poise and striking a stunning Slavic woman in high heels, each of the soaring towers is stabilized by two symmetrical wings. Today's shrines dubbed Stalin Skyscrapers have a complex mix of Russian Baroque and Gothic design, with old lines and American technology. Each building in this Soviet-style is all over Russia as a Building called Stalin.
More than half a century later, it is surprising to learn that the seven buildings were not built by the same group of architects. Referred to as "high buildings" by Muscovites, the most celebrated of the seven Mikhail Lomonosov Moscow State University, in a town located on the top of the "Sparrow Hills". Designs for a eighth sister at the site of today's GUM department store on Red Square was rumored to have been the preferred Stalin's burial place. But the project never progressed past the blueprint phase.
In Soviet times, the seven buildings were very popular for residences apparatchik (politicians), and Soviet artists. Today it is still possible to To view the memorial apartment of renowned prima ballerina Galina Ulanova, located in the seventh sister Kotelnicheskaya Naberezhnaya.
