Uk Horse Racing Action of October with tips from Malcolm Heyhoe
The first Sunday in October can mean only one thing and that Paris in the autumn for the Prix de l'AC de Triomphe at Longchamp on October 1. Not content with staging Europe's premier Group1 contest for middle-distance racehorses, the French authorities have done much to race these days to develop as a fixture to the next month Breeders' Cup bonanza at Churchill Downs, Kentucky contest
Like the Arc, there will be five Group One races on an amazing action Sunday for race fans. Knowing where to begin as a gambler is half the secret of success in a busy and wonderful day.
If ever The name of the French trainer Andre Fabre is the essential starting point for trying to find the Arc winner. No coach has done a very good race as the great French master, successful five times since 1992 and as concerned than ever to land his sixth Arc recent beating.
Fabre offers a three-pronged attack on price this year to start with Hurricane Run, last year's Arc hero is sure to be thereabouts again but struggled a substandard renewal of the land in King George at Ascot in July. Maybe this time he will overshadowed by his talented stable companion Shirocco, which aims at Longchamp spectacular all season, based on connections.
Getting stronger and better age, must Shirocco hard to beat in the Arc especially if the ground to give a day of the Arc. Andre Fabre's horse is at his best with cut feet. The same could not be true of Japanese superstar Deep Impact, whose connections are absolutely set on winning the Arc. Whether these top-notch land unsuitable Colt can overcome the lack of preparation race and the transition to a European climate is questionable, but he clearly adds spice to a cracking game.
The rest of the Arch Card offers a five Group races likely to respect the world to beat in the Prix de l'Abbaye on the minimum trip, while the possibility of a clash between Ouija Board and Alexandrova in the Prix de l'Opera is a mouthwatering prospect. Elsewhere Andre Fabre will try to better his record as the leading French-based trainer with his three-year olds are of particular importance. Fabre tend to the Prix du Cadran on Arc day focus on the season, and its leading indication should be observed.
It's a quiet weekend after the excitement of discharges from the Arc and Cambridgeshire weekend with the staging of Ascot day premier meeting on October 7. As always, the two-year-old sprinter central to the Cornwallis Stakes and the Willie Haggas trained Seductive would 5f interesting runner in this event.
Over in York is a great afternoon of traditional insoluble and difficult disability field led by the Coral Sprint Trophy. Given This results in shock 6f handicap is no wonder that bookmakers favor of such events to sponsor. On the same map the two-year-olds add some respectability to the proceedings Provided courtesy of the Rockingham Stakes and the Barry Hills-trained Captain Marvelous is a name to look for among the entries.
It's top drawer action at Newmarket on Champions Day, October 14th with two Group 1 races heading a wonderful afternoon of action. Throw in the second leg of the Autumn double for good measure, stir the Rockfel, Challenge and Darley Stakes and you have the recipe for a perfect racing day.
When it comes to finding the winner of the Champion Stakes, looking for something fresh is not a bad policy. Most of the winners of this quarter mile race and have not endured the hardships of a long hard season. This is certainly true of Derby hero Sir Percy and Henry Cecil's rapid improver Multi Dimensional but whether these talented three-year-olds to lower the colors of the older horses is an open question.
Sleeping Indian in the Challenge Stakes John Gosden would can sometimes be hard to beat, while Sir Gerard, the Darley Stakes before heading off to Dubai and the winter sun. The James Fanshawe-trained colt has been sold to Sheikh Mohammed and almost certain to race next season in the deep blue Godolphin colors.
The Dewhurst all eyes will be on Jim Bolger's Teofilo he must match his last Group1 race of a brilliant season two years old. This great prospect would tackle the world but in his absence to beat the Paul Cole-trained Strategic Prince would be a are benefiting. He is not in class Teofilo, but this is his goal, because a pattern of success at Goodwood in early August.
The main action switches to Newbury Flat after the high points of the day and John Gosden's Champions Broghill a name to note in the October Yearling Stakes on Oct. 20 the first day of Newbury's two-day meeting, which now includes the Racing Post Trophy on October 21. Mick Channon will be hoping that Halicarnassus to build on its great reputation in the latter group an award for young people, while Aidan O'Brien will try to build on his clear record in the race and all runners from his Ballydoyle operation should be observed.
On the same day as host of the Racing Post Trophy, Newbury also stages Horris Hill Stakes and Jeremy Noseda's ready for spring is prepared to take this prize, while the St Simon Stakes Geoff Wragg will be hoping that Dragon Dancer can lose his maiden tag at last. It seems scarcely credible that this kind of frustrating near the Derby in June landed at 66-1.
The dying embers of the 2006 turf Flat season to share the spoils at Newmarket on October 28 with jump racing at Wetherby. The former number is a valuable two-year-old contest in the shape of the Zetland Stakes runner and any of the Mark Johnston team must be respected, while here at the Star Wetherby Mohaison, the look of a good thing as he begins his season in the Charlie Hall Chase. Finally, some of the top two miles chasers will be strutting their stuff in the William Hill Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter and the outcome of this degree will cost a pointer to the pecking order between the two miles to titans.

Has anyone read the "Dark" series by Christine Feehan?
I finished reading Dark Prince last night and closed to be honest … I was waiting for the ending so that I could. I dunno …. too much sex, not enough romance … Raven was too stubborn and stupid sometimes … Mikhail much possessiveness. It was just blah to me. I want Gregori, Aidan, and Jacques' story to read but I am hesitant because it seems that they all follow the same pattern. They are having sex every 10 pages and the same adjectives and the same "method" and the equally unnecessary and I was so disappointed with the conflict. bah. That is just my opinion though. What is yours is?
The books are similar in the way they are written, but I enjoyed it. Dark Desire (Jacques' story) is my fave of the series to , and the plot was very different from the Dark Prince. If you wanted to give the series another shot, that would be one I would suggest are. Especially since the next book in the series anyway.
