Parenting Tip – Education and Lifestyle Forms Children Characters
Children grow up the way they are raised. Education and lifestyle are the criteria for the formation character and behavior of children.
Compare the two scenarios.
1. Nhung * is 5 years old from Vietnam. She was born in a poor Small family business selling beef Noodle Soup on Backstreet. Every morning she woke up 6 hours to help her parents to set up the stall, rough packaged noodles, was vegetables and dishes. Her hands are always dirty and oily.
Nhung has never been to school or heard about computers. However, she is very obedient, hardworking and polite. They always greet customers by name. She has never not own a toy, but an "until he (a sculpture figurine rice), which her mother gave her. To her, that toy was a luxury and they cherish a hope.
2. Priscilla * is 5 years old from Australia. Her parents are teachers and to-do-well. They attend kindergarten for 8 hours and must be dragged out of bed by 7:20. After college, she refuses to take her lunch and asked, so they can be powered laptop play her favorite games. She has 8 soft toys, Barbie dolls 2, 1912 puzzles, lots of princess stickers, personalized kids kitchen make-up set – just a few. But, they never clean up after the play. She has a maid in house to do the job. She gets to attend swimming lessons and art they never appreciate. She greets no one.
We certainly can not choose the place or family to be born. Note that children character not only congenital, but they are shaped by family upbringing and lifestyle. Both Nhung and Priscilla his 5-year-old girls, but born in different countries, exposed to various environmental and health care providers will make them into two very different and extreme personalities.
So what can we do as parents and carers?
1. Train children to be responsible for their membership. They should be taught about ownership and responsibility of keeping their possessions.
2. Materialism. Well-to-do parents should not shower children with unnecessary amounts of toys and enrichment classes. Would they appreciate?
3. Regards. Every child must learn to adults with respect. It does not cause anything to be polite to them, but they say they will always love us when they learn to greet and respect.
4. 5-year olds are certainly capable of self-feeding. To encourage independence and discipline by not allowing her to play until she finishes her lunch.
5. Healthy lifestyle. Priscilla's caregivers had to tuck her into bed and her nine p.m. to prepare adequate sleep, she would have no trouble waking up, would they?
These are very common examples of issues in the education of children in modern world today. I propose to reconsider care about education and parenting style – if one in the first place?
