What are reborn babies?
Reborn dolls are dolls that are typically dismantled. This involves taking the limbs (arms, legs and head) and account all stuffing from the body. A typical used doll, Berenguer dolls that are considered ideal due to the faces and proportions they arrive
Each component is stripped of any conditioning plant such as paint, plastic and unwanted hair. They are then rebuilt by the artist intended them to look as real as possible. There are many processes involved to do this and it may take a long time to complete. While painting one of the limbs may involve adding multiple layers of paint or color, styling and extra on top of veins and skin blemishes. Of course, each of the limb needs to be done in a similar style so it can take a lot of work to achieve this. The head also requires a lot of work other than painting since the eyelashes and hair should be added. While you can use a wig to do this, consider many microrooting mohair to look better and give more realistic results.
Many artists sell their creations on ebay where there is a growing market for them. However, the price is extremely differences with some dolls fecthing to $ 100 and others go far beyond the $ 2000 Mark. If you are looking at buying a reborn doll then definitely look at the pictures of the doll and the price!
They are sometimes called other names, but ultimatly it means the same. For example, 'living dolls',' unliving dolls, "" reborn babies' or just 'reborns' are alternative names for them.
The Reborning Process has been around for a few years, but it is still fairly new and always changing. As the popularity grows and more and more artists try out new methods are refined, making it faster and easier. Because there is no definitive way to do it, many people have developed their own techniques from start to finish. This is good for the community because it means that there are many, many different ways to get the same results. It also means spending quite a lot of varied art supplies and equipment to make a reborn. For example, brushes, paint, Qtips, mohair, and of course the doll you will rebornen are just the beginning of what you need.
They're not for every taste and seem to have split opinion from person to person. Some people seem to find reborn dolls cute and cuddly, while others thought of them weird and creepy. Their own really, but this should be commended for the artists talents to she looking so real.
