7 Top tips for effective time management for Reborn Doll Artists
Did you know that 85 to 90% of people in America are dissatisfied with their jobs? The percentage of people actually doing a job they love is much lower. So the ability to go from an unsatisfying career in a day that inspires you to get your artistic juices flows really well and pays an exciting step.
If you are serious about turning your passion into a reborn doll career than managing your time is essential. Working from home is difficult, unless you are very disciplined and this can be achieved with good time management skills, which are easily learned.
1. Prioritize your time. Spend ten minutes each morning or evening to make a priority of the activities of the day's most important to least important and stick to it. Make and keep your "To Do List" handy. Not skip the difficult part, when checking to see what needs completing next. Always give yourself a little time emergencies or things that are not planned. It is well documented that most people spend 80% of their time trying to 20% of their tasks to complete.
2. Time management plan. Have a time management plan that, if necessary, spend the day in half hour increments. This is a good way to start using time effectively and all what you need is a clock or watch to stay on track. Set goals for yourself by using this formula: give yourself deadlines and stick to them as you would for any other work.
3. Avoid distractions. When working at home, do not get side tracked by housework or a job to do with your house. Always imagine yourself in the workplace and time. The beauty of working from home, you can choose your hours so you can take some time to care for family if needed, but you have to again. For example, if you work and ends at fifteen to one couple of hours to spend with your children, put aside at night time of day to complete the workload.
4. Look after your body. Get the right amount of sleep. Seven to eight hours is recommended for adults but overslept makes you tired. Eat a healthy breakfast, take time out for a light healthy lunch. A light lunch stop tired in the afternoon. Take frequent short breaks away from your computer – at least every two hours. Resist the urge to talk yourself into a long rest when you your own bank to wait in the next room. Exercise in the early morning or evening, not in the working period.
5. Creating a mini-production line. Paint over a doll or a portion of a doll at a time. The preparation of paint takes time, so if you have more than one pop / paint on a part time this actually cuts down on time. A job where many dolls can be prepared saves time. When photographing dolls for sale, use the same set-up for more than one. Your mini-production line can be an effective way to achieve results much faster.
6,. Talk to your spouse and children explaining to them that you're at home does the emphasis on working, and just because your home does not mean you're on the tips of everyone or you do not need help running the house. Explain that you are working for hours # – # hours and need to be treated as you are in a work and not available – the same way as everyone else who leaves home to work.
7. Work now, play later. It is the human nature to want to do the fun stuff first. Train yourself to work on your list, complete the first place, starting the day with things that can not be pleasant for you. In this way they are out of the way and you can concentrate on the tasks more fun without guilt or worry. Reward yourself. If you have important tasks within a prescribed period, give yourself a little treat. This gives you an incentive to complete work on time.
