Toy of the year 1950 – How to enjoy with your children and grandchildren
There is something about 1950 toys that only makes us smile. Although they did not have the batteries, blinking lights and loud noises of modern toys, they have a way of transporting us back to simpler times. Mr. Potato Head
You can not mention 1950 without admitting toy Mr. Potato Head. Although we all know this cute little guy with changeable eyes, mouth, ears, may be less known that this is the first toy ever advertised on television. To enjoy this toy with your children, try to stimulate their creativity by having them write or tell stories about the different personalities that they can make by changing the features of Mr. Potato Head. Or you can create different looks for Mr. Potato Head and your children to act them for helping them with their imagination.
Hula Hoop
When thinking of the 1950s toys, one of the things that may come to mind is the hula hoop. This toy has become so popular the new hit game, Wii Fit, including a mini-game where you use your body to a character on screen swing a hula hoop around their body. Can not the scale of the money for the Nintendo Wii? No problem. Try using a Hula Hoop competition with your children and record their results over time. They're and getting exercise at the same time. To even better, use different Hula Hoops and see who gets the most spin around their waist at the same time.

In 1959, young girls got a toy that would become their new best friend. At last, Barbie made her entrance in the 1950 toy scene.
