There are several contenders for the title of world's largest of fancy dress party. The following are just a few of the more popular world fancy dress occasions, carnival in the world offers many opportunities for dressing up.
Halloween.
The tradition of Halloween originated more than two thousand years ago among the Celtic tribes of Ireland. In those days believed that the spirits of the dead came to walk among the living on the last day of the year, which was October 31. They would dress up in scary costumes posing as ghosts to pass and thus to avoid damage by the "real" ghosts. The meaning of Halloween has changed over the centuries, but we still always enjoy the excuse to dress up as someone else on this night of the year and the tradition is particularly popular in the U.S..
St. Patrick's Day.
St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He brought Christianity to Ireland and is credited with having driven the snakes out country, although this is more likely to be symbolic of managing the "snake" of paganism of the country. Besides the traditional sense as a day of spiritual and renewal of prayer in support of missionaries around the world, has become one day of celebration of all things Irish. An estimated 70 million people worldwide can claim Irish descent, and every year on March 17 they (and more) to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Parades and events are held throughout the world, from Vancouver, Canada Auckland, New Zealand. People dressed in green and celebrate with parades, music and songs, Irish food and drink and many other Irish-related activities.
World book day.
Designated by UNESCO as an annual worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries around the world. Throughout the world it is celebrated on April 23, which is St. George's Day and the anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. The origin of the day is a 80 years old tradition in Catalonia, where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George's Day. In the UK and Ireland is the usually celebrated in March to ensure that occurs during school time. Children go to school dressed as their favorite character from literature.
The Carnival of Venice.
Dating back to the 14th century, the original Venice carnival all stakeholders in the city. It broke all rules of society and state, and gave the average person the opportunity to lose themselves in celebration. Wearing masks and fancy costumes, the men discarded identity, gender and social class and enjoyed parties, shows and musical events. The modern carnival will be held for one week in February each year.
Rugby Sevens in New Zealand.
The New Zealand leg of the IRB (International Rugby Board) Sevens Rugby Circuit is held each year in Wellington. Approximately 50 games are held over two days with each game lasting 14 minutes. There is a carnival atmosphere and much of the crowd to attend in fancy dress.

What shorts are too short for the dress code of the school?
I go to high school and they have a dress code that you cannot do short shorts, but shorts count as their open house, I saw tons of girls wear them I go to Long Height Fields Davidson High School (or LDHSS for short)
When I was in high school and high school could get our hands on the side of our body. If your hands go past your skirt or trousers, then it is too short. But hey, I went to Catholic school. I may not be good reference ..
