how much do you layer up in the winter newborn?
Hi, I'm 34 weeks pregnant. My baby will be born in November, I am in Chicago … so it will be the pretty cold n cold this time … The question I have, and need your help about the layering my newborn … In the evening time .. when I took him to his crib … many layers should I add to my baby? I know I'm not adding blankets or anything else … so swaddling with receiving blanket safe? or should I go buy one of those sleeper bag? (I'm planning to make the room temp at 72 degrees ..) Typically, however many layers you wear. If you pjs and two blankets, your baby will most comfortably into 3 even layers. Just watch for his signal to see if he is comfortable (you know if he does not). Swaddling vs sleeper bags really depends on the baby. both are safe, but some children prefer to move and space, others sleep better when swaddled up. Just do what you are most comfortable with, or you can try both and see what works best for you!
