What color should I paint my kitchen?

I want to decorate my kitchen, it's very small, light wood (possibly maple) units, gray tops splash back and light gray tiles. My refrigerator and stove, etc are stainless steel. It is a very modern style and the walls are currently lilac, im not sure what Chenge of color to make them. What do you think?
