Graduate Fashion Week 2010
Here at Earls Court, fashion graduates from all over the UK and also a few international graduates were able to present their collections to the press, public and particularly the fashion buyers and designers. Now in its 19th year, Graduate Fashion Week ended with a spectacular Gala Show that the nominee graduates for the coveted Awards Gala for their collections on the catwalk show.
Hosted by Caryn Franklin, the show opened with "Britain's Got Talent" Diversity winners do what they do best wowing us with their acrobatic dance performance.
Fashion Promotion and Media Awards were presented by supermodel Erin O'Connor, Fashion Director Hilary Alexander, Biba, Barbara Hulanicki, Sugar Babes "Amelle and Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud to name a few. Jessica Dance Arts College Bournemouth University received an additional bonus of a trip to the Maldives when she Aquum By Creative Marketing Award.
Italian designer Alberta Ferretti presented the prize of the River Island Gold Award (plus £ 20,000), which was won by Rebecca Thomson University of Manchester School of Art.
Rebecca's inspiration for her nostalgic collection future came from the photographer Roman Vishniac's work documenting Jewish children in Eastern Europe and Arthur Rackham's 1930's book illustrations. Here we see the comfort and building together as Rebecca experiments with both historical and modern techniques and textures. Colors are neutral in white, light gray, pale blues and nudes. Crisp wide collars on classical Volumouse white shirts and a single long shirt dress with long floppy bows were equipping the navy or gray. Pants was a cross between jogging and harem pants. Did the white sleeveless top with embroidered lace gray yolk and polo neck. A romantic feminine collection that was definitely portable.
Ravensbourne College of Thomas Crisp won the River Island Menswear Award by Dylan Jones of GQ magazine. Crisp collection of bright metallic jackets and tops brought life and color to tailored suits and trousers. Titled "jeunesse dorée ", metallic colors including green and silver. Here is the inspiration came from the 18th century French rebels and layering is key. A plain black skirt worn over the skin tight pants, while a black satin suit was combined with a green metallic top. Equipment with loose scarf. A collection making menswear more interesting.
Lorraine Candy of Elle presented Rhea Areas Northbrook College Best Womenswear Award. Titled "About a Boy," Fields collection take on tailored men were feminized with using lightweight fabrics and soft nudes with black. Here we saw a nude striped jacket and black latex, latex bibbed striped tuxedo blouses with big bows and a cushioned latex big orange polka dot chiffon blouse. All together with male size black leather pants or leggings.
Presented by Zandra Rhodes, the Zandra Rhodes Textile Award went to Anna Lee Demontfort University. Brightly colored in oranges, blues and gold were the bold prints of mythical Chinese dragons and tigers. Not a plain fabric in sight even to the tights and shoes. To complete the picture, gold chains gigantuous of dragon and tiger heads were worn.
Singer Rachel Stevens presented the BHM Knitwear Visionary Knitwear Award to Ledina Zhang University of Northumbria. Zhang's quirky sportswear-inspired designs were a mix of wide and narrow horizontal stripes in gray, pink, yellow and red. Samples of knitted squares hanging loose and extra pair of sleeves tied together created detailing.

Megan wants a millionaire Shocker?
Did you watch the show? I read in the newspaper today that the investment banker Ryan Jenkins is accused of killing his model wife. Her naked body was found in a suitcase in a dustbin by a tramp. Apparently the day she died, Ryan disappeared. He also for some reason plates changed on his car and his ex-wife model car. They got a divorce, friends say, because they said he was jelous. Anyways, the same man I'm currently watching on VH1 is accused of murder. Megan Will you look a millionaire and what do you think of this? Oh yes changing the license plate on the cars was done on the same day his wife was slain or killed his wife. No, the plumber is GURT lol. Ryan was the smooth talking man named Megan cocky. He is the man who hired an Aston Martin car with Megan on a first date private.
Although he is very, very good looking – I always have a strange feeling from him. I think he did it! It's terrible, but I think he did. They say he was a "finalist", but some places, that he was the one. They pulled the show completely from circulation and the removal of the website. The show is down to further notice – I bet that Megan was upset that she does not finish with the best looking one, and her show are cut off !!!!! LMAO!
