American Girl Brings Together Grandmothers and granddaughters
If a grandmother is a joy. I actually believe my beautiful grandchildren are my reward for all the terrible teenage years spent with my daughter. My only girl was a beautiful, loving young girl, but boy, she was an Dour, sassy and just moody, teen. It is wonderful how having children of your own will help you appreciate your own mother again.
Their role they are halfway across the country, all the way to California. They worship there, and it is fun to visit, but I still much rather have my parents nearby, here in Chicago. We are planning this trip for months now and high on the list to do is go to the American Girl Store Grand where each child gets to choose her favorite American Girl doll and accessories. In fact, we planned a special lunch at the American Girl Caf. I suspect I'm more excited than they for this special visit.
T. Pleasant Rowland created this clever line of dolls back in 1986. She created a well-made line of dolls and then she brought them to life through a collection of historically accurate, entertaining and sometimes sad stories told through child-friendly books. These dolls and their stories are skillfully designed to be idols for young girls, their stories are not all about happy endings – and things go crazy folk dying – and little girls in essence, learning the stories. Besides the historical characters, have other lines of dolls was introduced, including the girl of the Year and just like you. And, of course, there are whole lines of the traditional right accessories for a choose – furniture, clothing, luggage and much more. For weeks my granddaughters have talked about what they are going to pop out. I understand that my child even led directly to some debate over who gets what. now my oldest granddaughter is relatively fixed with one of the newest editions to the American Girl line, Rebecca.
My nine years Grand old child is convinced that the American Girl doll of the year is exactly what she wants. She loves the idea that this doll is only available this year and after that, nobody else can buy. This year's doll is named Lanie and she loves outside. What a cool way to push girls to actively are.
And of course, my youngest granddaughter's kind of in love with Kaya, a Nez Pierce girl being raised in 1764, when they're being loves all things Indian.
Of course, it does not really matter to me that doll sets they select. I know that the experience of a visit to the U.S. Girl store and select their dolls and stories will be one that not one of us will ever forget.
