Bottle-feeding tips for babies
There is more formula than you might think. Get the inside scoop here.
1. Change your baby's diaper before the feed. This helps wake up your baby for feeding and provides an undisturbed sleep after feeding.
2. Prepare your baby's daily intake of formula in advance. Can you:
Mix the desired amount of formula in advance and gave the fridge. Then when you are ready to use the milk, put it in a bowl with warm water the chill off. Prepare powdered formula could be stored in the refrigerator until 24 hours after mixing.
Pre-measure the powder and water in separate containers (a container for baby powder and a bottle of water). Enough for day / night. Then, when you're ready to feed your baby, blending the two. This eliminates the need to warm milk.
3. Use boiled water or bottled water when mixing baby formula. When using boiled water, let the water return to room temperature before mixing with the formula.
4. Never warm formula in the microwave. This can cause the milk very hot in some areas. Always warm milk by placing the bottle in a bowl or cup of warm water. Make sure to test the milk on the inner side of your wrist to the temperature to ensure safety. Temperature is perfect formula when you are unable to feeling hot or cold.
5. Discard any unused milk one hour after feeding. Bacteria from your baby's saliva begin to multiply rapidly when left at room temperature.
6. Make sure to burp your baby frequently during feedings.
If your baby does not spit so often, wait until your baby stops sucking from the bottle and then burp your baby. The gas bubbles baby think he / she is full and will make them stop drinking the milk.
When your baby utters a good farmer, he / she will probably resume food.
If your baby tends to vomit frequently or colic, try burping your baby more frequently, approximately every half an ounce or so.
7. For a sleepy newborn or preemie:
Remove blankets and hats. Babies love to sleep when they are cozy and warm. If that does not do the trick, undress your baby.
Rub baby back along his / her back.
Stimulate your baby's feet.
Wipe your baby's face and chest with a cool, damp cloth.
Hold your baby on your lap with your non-dominate hand to support your baby's head, neck and shoulder. Some babies tend to sleep as she snuggled in dad or mom arms during feedings.
Remember, practice makes perfect.

Do you think it's tacky throw your own baby shower?
My sisters roommate is 17 and throwing her baby shower. She has it all planned and will not let my sister do it for her. I'm very traditional and think it is very sticky. Times have changed and now it's ok or would you also a problem with that.
I think it is sticky. Nobody threw me a shower – I did not expect, and I would never have thrown one for myself. That being said, we have over 100 gifts received from friends, my partner, family and clients for up to 3 months after our daughter was born. celebrating pregnancy is different than throwing a shower. If she wanted a "pre baby" dinner or organizing something – which is fine. Organising a shower in order to receive gifts is not. A previous answer stated that this person obviously needs the gifts '- Well, in my opinion, if someone has things for their baby to be bought by others, because not financially able to do this themselves, then they should not really a baby to all!
