A guide has become a promising profession. The burgeoning tourism industry has always been and now is the growing demand for guides has opened a lot of openings for aspiring world travelers.

With a job will guide you the opportunity to travel and the financial rewards. You also get a lot of one of a kind of social interactions with different kinds of people from all over the world. Guides should try to be always in a jovial mood. They should never impatient, and they must always be on top of things. The job requires a significant organizational and leadership skills. Keep in mind that you are responsible for the life of the group you support.

If you want really want a guide, you should be able to handle emergencies in a calm way and collected. Unexpected problems can arise and situations, transport disruptions, client meltdowns, or hotel unavailability test your leadership skills to tour the extreme.

If all goes well, you feel like you're not doing any work at all.

Requirements to be a guide:

First and foremost, you must be good at speaking English and it does not hurt for you to another foreign language they speak depending on the location and tour requirements. A good speaker will always be a place found in the touring industry. If you are able to speak more than one your chances of finding a job are even better.

Tour guides should be physically fit, especially if you planning to tour demanding work necessary to lead. You must also have a good sense of direction. A decent skill in map reading is always a plus.

If You want to work in a company, they may require some sort of certification. Although not essential for some, but it can be a great help for you to land a job. Better take some training and certification examinations to keep that target. It gives you more credibility.

Working as a freelancer is a great option. But the best way to customers, especially for starting guides is an agency or a touring company.

Then choose the region you want to operate as a guide. After have chosen to study and do a lot of research. You must learn and adhere to the accompanying information on the region. You need an expert.

After an expert appearance and pleasant attitude can earn large sums of tips from satisfied customers. Ultimately, you are a veteran in the industry. You can afford to work independently and a contractor issue for companies that are willing to compensate you for your efforts as providing free accommodation and travel. They will be willing to do this because you are considered an offer authority in the field.

I would like a tour guide? What should I study at Uni? I would like a tour guide for a more mature audience that really appreciates travel !!!!! Something like Trafalgar Tours. I love the story !!!!! I eventually would like to work for a travel program (i know that hear it almost impossible!) As Samantha Brown Discovery Travel trip or that dream's anyways!

If you like history than study history. I'm not sure but I would not have thought a degree was required to complete a guide. What you need is charisma, be able to trust and talk to people involved and most of all have a vast knowledge of what it is to give you a tour. Why do not you give tours traflgar a call and ask what qualifications they needed.
