Walking After Our Own Devices
Jeremiah 18:12 And they said, there is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
At what point will a nation of people awaken to the truth? When will it be that people get wisdom? In ancient Israel, wisdom, after being in exile for their rebellion against the Lord. I ask you, if America will listen to wisdom? When will we awaken?
We are definitely a great nation, greater in our own eyes, perhaps, than in reality. We do walk after our own devices, after all, who's to stop us? If we want homosexuality made lawful Who is to stop us? If we want babies, who's to stop us to break? If we want extramarital sex is perfectly okay, who's to stop us explain? If our ministers, pastors, deacons, bishops and others want to anger those who devote them to stop? So far, so good, it would be our motto. God's grace is expressed in this nation and others, In spite of this wickedness. The problem is, His grace will ever end, what then?
As a nation blessed by God, we certainly follow the ways of persistent Israel. Despite God's warnings through His prophets, the nation headed straight to prison. This is a nation full of churches, fine golden crosses, plush couches, the best educated seminars, and the richest of all nations on earth, yet it is the head of a disaster. This disaster comes when people think they can not answer one. That evil ways will not be punished. This nation has been warned for years by many godly men. Even today, there are voices calling for this nation in the midst of the wickedness of repentance. David knew days in Israel to express the righteousness of God. In Psalms 9 verses 7-10, David says that "the LORD shall endure for ever:. He believes his throne and he will judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister in the opinion of the people in uprightness. The LORD will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of need. And those who know thy name will put their trust in you: for thou, LORD, have not left you find "Who knows that the Lord their trust in him, the Lord will not those who try to ignore him The Apostle Paul tells us … In Ephesians 2:12, we (now know the Lord) were once "without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, no hope and without God in the world. "Without hope and without God in the world, this describes many in America today.
Moreover, if we in this country, forget God as we have done this "no hope" boils to the surface. Instead of glitz and glamor, young people disillusioned with society. Instead of religiosity of the churches today, the young people choose the dark side of the occult and mysticism. Instead of diet on secularism in this nation and the hype, the young find it shallow offering nothing of living. They feel that the supply of money, fame, wealth, food, religion and daily life has no value. It is pure vanity, uselessness. They see adults fighting to get, yet having not enough, politicians fighting in Washington offers no solutions, and at school they find humanism offering the empty wisdom of man.
David gets back to this point for us in Psalm 9, verses 16-20 say that "The Lord is known by the decision he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his hands The wicked will return to hell, and all nations. Forget God. For the needy will not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. Arise, Lord, let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. Put them in fear, O LORD … that the nations may know that they are but men "in our aspirations in this country, people should not mans wisdom, but God's wisdom, the beginning of such wisdom is fear of the Lord. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, Psalm 111:10.
This nation and its people must know how they are managed will be a snare to bring them. Just like before people who thought they were gods in their own eyes, They were humiliated. This nation will only end when the wicked for those who were caught in the justice of the Lord and were cut down. America will find themselves in this situation? The answer is, America is already in place today, before I wrote this, I got a call to prayer. This prayer was for the families of two young men. These families were related, but they were facing the same dilemma. Both young men had committed suicide. A successful, failed and the other is faced with dire consequences for his action. In Both young men live, we see the reflection of America.
The list goes on. Murders, suicides, rapes, drugs and so on. Ignorance never ceases, with wisdom of the wicked, not to the righteousness of God that will come to all nations that forget us as well. The trip to hell is paved with good intentions and one step at a time. The problem for America is that we take the great trip and everyone, including many churches is blind to this.

Is there any evidence that the people of that period were rebellious, or crazy?
No more than now – That was what, about 30 years ago? Judging by the number of books out now with the same premise – person walks across the country and talk with other people – Jenkins helped start a trend. Of course he was not the first that either, but the popularity of his book inspired others.
